Position Overview

As a Kiewit Technology Group (KTG) Business Development Specialist, you will be responsible for the management of projects and coordination with peers to achieve program level success.  While some of the work for this team is conducted in a waterfall manner, the volume of work in the space necessitates the use of Agile values and principles within the project teams to ensure proper prioritization and execution of work.  The role facilitates a variety of meetings, workshops, and ceremonies in support of all types of work for the team. Additionally, they are responsible for the accurate and timely upkeep of data related to the team’s performance including project schedules, resource plans, and risks/issues and financial summaries that define and report progress toward cost savings and program success.  The Business Development Specialist fosters the team’s self-organization and does anything possible to help the team realize the goals of their product roadmap and perform at the highest level.

This position is based out of Lenexa, KS. This is a shared service environment in a professional office setting.

Responsibilities

Data Management & Analytics
• Acquire, organize, analyze, disseminate, and monitor information on markets, clients, competitors, specific projects, technology, and legislative developments to the Business
• Development team and management.
• Obtain data to support the forecasting and tracking of markets and trends, analyzing collected data.
• Monitor industry statistics and follow trends in trade literature and other sources.
• Seek and provide data to help the company determine strategic positioning in various industries.
• Gather data on competitors and analyze their projects, win/losses, methods of marketing, strategies, and assist with the development of pursuit White Papers and Capture Plans.
• Perform in-depth transit market research on a variety of businesses in engineering, construction, and equipment providers.
• Assist with identification and update of opportunities by reviewing and understanding Local, State, and Federal funding mechanisms and Capital Investment Programs.
• Prepare reports, illustrating data graphically and translating complex findings into written text for the Business Development team and management.
• Contribute to the design, development, and operation of MEC’s information infrastructure system (knowledge management system)/electronic library.
• Organize and update key stakeholder contact information.
• Update data and run reports as needed in our proprietary Client Relationship Management System (CRM).

 

Presentations & Proposal/Marketing Support
• Creating and managing PowerPoint presentations for Senior Management.
• Coordinate with other Kiewit Districts to ensure our efforts are efficient and effective.
• Assist the Proposal department and other marketing tasks, as needed.
• Assist with development and maintenance of marketing collateral – advertisements, newsletters, websites, print, media, etc.
• Manage conference and tradeshow logistics, including booth registration, signage, setup, shipping, freight coordination, etc.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
• Experience in the rail transit industry is a plus.
• Ability to travel throughout the United States and Canada.
• Ability to prioritize and complete a high volume of work, managing multiple projects and coordinating multiple requests to successful completion.
• Proven ability to take initiative and build strong and productive personal relationships
• Excellent creative and strategic abilities.
• Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent computer skills using Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.
• Basic understanding of data management and analytical software, such as CRM, SharePoint, Tableau, etc.
