BIM Manager - Industrial
Lenexa, KS, US Lone Tree, CO, US Albuquerque, NM, US Houston, TX, US
Requisition ID: 181550
Job Level: Mid Level
Home District/Group: Kiewit Industrial & Water Engineering
Department: Design Engineering
Market: Industrial
Employment Type: Full Time
Position Overview
Kiewit's project portfolio has grown substantially in scale, complexity, and geographic diversity, encompassing major infrastructure programs in heavy civil, power generation, industrial processing, transportation, and water systems. As project owners increasingly require digital delivery methods—including model-based design, coordinated federated models, 4D construction sequencing, and data-rich handover packages—the demands placed upon project teams to manage these digital workflows have expanded far beyond the capacity of incidental or distributed responsibility. The absence of dedicated BIM leadership on large-scale projects has been identified as a recurring gap that affects coordination quality, schedule performance, and the ability to meet contractual digital deliverable requirements.
We are hiring dedicated BIM Managers to bridge the gap between engineering design intent and field construction operations. This role will serve as the central technical authority for all model-related activities on assigned projects, coordinating across disciplines including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and process to ensure that models are accurate, current, and actively driving construction decisions. Without this function, project teams are left to manage increasingly complex model environments without consistent governance, leading to undetected clashes, redundant RFIs, and field rework that erodes schedule and budget performance.
This position reflects Kiewit's commitment to digital transformation and positions the organization to compete more effectively on technically demanding pursuits where BIM competency is an evaluated selection criterion. By embedding structured BIM leadership at the project level, Kiewit will improve delivery outcomes, reduce risk exposure, and build institutional knowledge that can be leveraged across future programs. This requisition requests executive authorization to fill the BIM Manager position with a highly qualified professional who can immediately contribute to active project delivery operations.
