As a key member of our Power district HR team, you will play a pivotal role in developing our field HR team, strengthening our craft talent pipeline, and ensuring our annual people processes are executed with excellence. You’ll mentor and guide field HR specialists working on construction project sites, providing tactical HR support, problem-solving partnership, and career development that elevates their impact. You’ll also own the full cycle of our Key Craft Program – identifying, developing and championing high-potential craft employees for long term growth with the company. Together with our senior HR Business Partners, you’ll deliver critical HR processes including performance and talent reviews, workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding and merit planning.

District Overview
Kiewit Power Constructors (KPC) and TIC Power provide construction services for Power Generation, utilizing union and open shop craft workforces. The Power districts build major EPC and bid-build natural gas power plants, solar fields, and energy storages systems throughout North America. Kiewit Power is committed to Kiewit’s “Nobody Gets Hurt” philosophy.

Responsibilities
Field HR Leadership & Coaching
- Serve as a mentor, advisor and indirect manager to field HR staff across multiple project sites, supporting them in day-to-day HR operations, employee relations and workforce planning.
- Provide coaching and professional development to help early- and mid-career HR professionals grow in capability, confidence, and business partnership skills.
- Support consistent execution of HR processes, policies, and compliance across field operations.
- Partner closely with construction leadership to ensure HR support aligns with project milestones, staffing needs, and employee engagement priorities.
Key Craft Program Ownership
- Lead the full lifecycle of the Key Crat Program, including identifying high-potential craft employees with project leadership, facilitating readiness assessments, and partnering with operations to create developmental pathways.
- Monitor progression, track outcomes, and ensure participant receive meaningful opportunities aligned with their long-term growth.
Annual HR Cycle Execution
- Support Lead HR Business Partners in delivering annual processes including:
- Talent and performance review
- Merit and wage planning
- Shareholder nomination identification
- Workforce planning and forecasting
- Succession and leadership pipeline reviews
- Provide data, insights and recommendations to leaders to drive strong talent decisions.
Talent Acquisition, Onboarding & Intern Support
- Collaborate with recruiting teams on experienced hire and college recruitment needs for the Power districts.
- Support and occasionally lead onboarding for new staff, ensuring strong alignment with district needs and Kiewit’s culture.
- Partner with Field HR teams to support intern onboarding and the ongoing management of the intern program, ensuring a positive and consistent experience.
Employee Experience & Culture
- Build relationships across teams and project sites to maintain visibility, understand workforce dynamics, and address trends proactively.
- Partner with field leaders to reinforce Kiewit’s core values: People, Integrity, Excellence, and Stewardship.
- Help shape an inclusive, development-focused culture where employees feel connected, supported, and set up for success.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field, or 4 years of experience in lieu
- 2+ years of HR generalist experience, with a working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines
- 4+ years of professional work experience
- Ability to work full time in the office
- Ability to travel regularly to project sites across the Power districts
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and present clear recommendations to business leaders
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusting relationships at all levels, from craft to senior leadership
- Comfort working in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in construction, engineering, manufacturing, or another project-based industry
- Experience supporting craft labor or union environments
- Familiarity with talent identification and development programs
- Ability to relocate for future growth opportunities in HR
