Position Overview

Our rapidly growing multi-discipline engineering group requires a Senior Engineering Manager for our Quebec based team. The current projects underway include the design of green hydrogen production facilities, solar and wind renewable power generation, large scale CCGT power generation, lithium battery manufacturing, lithium recovery and processing, LNG, carbon capture and low carbon fuels just to name a few. 
We are seeking a Senior Engineering Manager who will work within our engineering team to provide the full range of service in an integrated delivery system – from FEL 1 through design and construction. 
Engineering Project Managers at Kiewit are an integral part of our overall project management teams with direct access to engineering and construction leaders across the organization and an ability to impact all facets of project design.

This position is based out of our office in Laval, Quebec.


      Get Work

  • Participate in our internal bid/no-bid process;
  • Support business development activities including RFP reviews, proposals, project estimates, engineering fee estimates, etc.;
  • Develop and implement project based strategic winning strategies, collaborating with the carbon capture commercial management team
  • Develop a strong understanding of customers’ current goals/objectives/plans, develop customer-specific capture plans and communicate the opportunities;
  • Maintain a strong network of industry related individuals (OEM’s, 3rd Party Contractors, Developers) for expanding Kiewit Engineering’s services and opportunities;
  • Participate in on-going high-level client relationships within the industry;
  • Assist with the development of the technical content for proposal documents ;
  • Support presentation of proposals to customers.

       Build Work

  • Manage and direct the engineering project teams through effective communication, coordination and follow up to meet project goals and objectives;
  • Facilitate effective communication between design and construction project leadership;
  • Ensure proper coordination of technical details across multiple engineering disciplines;
  • Plan and communicate the engineering resources required to support the projects;
  • Responsible for meeting engineering schedules and budgets;
  • Identify project risks along with mitigation strategies;
  • Ensure project scope of work, schedule and budget are clearly defined and understood; 
  • Direct the development of the engineering project execution plan;
  • Monitor and report project progress against the execution plan and plan the  appropriate corrective action if progress falls behind the plan;
  • Monitor, control, and report project expenditures against the budget.


The ideal candidate for the Senior Engineering Project Manager position will possess the following qualities:

  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in the engineering industry with a focus on hydrogen and energy transition projects;
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the delivery of engineering projects located in Quebec;
  • Demonstrated engineering design and management experience;
  • Strong leadership and networking skills;
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering;
  • Professional Engineering designation in Quebec;
  • Excellent English and French oral and written communication skills.
