We are looking for a Senior Roadway Engineer with extensive experience in road design. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, interdisciplinary supervision and coordination of complex road design and construction projects booming at Kiewit office in Laval, Quebec.

Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers (KIE) is a multi-faceted and leading-edge division of our company that offers a variety of services, including, temporary and permanent design services for current projects and new project pursuits in the United States and Canada.  Our design services group has offices in Colorado, Nebraska, Washington State, Laval and Toronto, Canada offering expertise in structural, geotechnical, civil, drainage, roadway, and materials disciplines.  Our engineering group is responsible for managing engineering assignments in support of Kiewit’s construction projects in both the United States and Canada.  As part of the engineering group, you will have the opportunity to work with other structural and geotechnical engineers, members of our interdisciplinary engineering team, as well as estimators, schedules and construction experts to provide advice on construction methodology, risk and the design of temporary works.


This position will be located in our Laval, QC Office


  • Be in charge of road design discipline
  • Manage several technical teams working on development and final design projects.
  • Conduct a technical review of design deliverables to ensure they meet project requirements.
  • Mentoring first-level staff for technical and professional development
  • Attend project meetings with construction teams and the client
  • Support the design quality management plan within the civil engineering design team.
  • Develop budgets, timelines and staffing plans for final design projects.
  • Help the senior management team in project selection and technical risk assessment.


  • More than 11 years of road design experience, with a focus on design-build
  • Enrolled in a Canadian Professional Order is mandatory
  • Establishing Geometric concepts (horizontal alignments, vertical alignments, standard sections, overflows) of roads and highways, in accordance with industry design standards, including AASHTO.
  • Critical thinking with ability to plan and conceptualize
  • Knowledge of design software, including Micro Station and AutoCAD
  • Ability to communicate effectively, in person and in writing
  • Ability to freely access all points of a construction site, in wide-ranging climates and environment.
