Position Overview

Kiewit Nuclear Solutions is seeking an experienced Scheduler to support Project OKLO. In this role, you will play a critical part in the planning, development, and maintenance of project schedules across a diverse portfolio of commercial nuclear and Department of Energy (DOE) projects. This hands-on position offers the opportunity to directly influence project execution and outcomes by developing and managing schedules for projects in various stages of planning, design, and construction.

As a key member of the project team, you will collaborate closely with engineering, procurement, construction, and project management professionals to ensure schedule accuracy, identify potential risks, and support successful project delivery. Location

Blackfoot, ID (Idaho Falls, ID area). This position is on an active construction site. Daily attendence is required on site.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, designers, procurement professionals, construction managers, subcontractors, and project services personnel to develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules from conceptual planning through design, construction, commissioning, and operational startup.
  • Utilize Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) scheduling principles, terminology, and methodologies to develop critical path method (CPM) schedules and logic networks that support project planning, execution, and forecasting.
  • Apply historical performance data and industry best practices to develop realistic schedules, resource plans, and progress forecasts.
  • Ensure all scheduling activities comply with site-specific Earned Value Management System (EVMS) requirements and certified project controls processes.
  • Analyze schedule data to identify trends, risks, constraints, and potential impacts to project milestones, and develop recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Collect, validate, and integrate schedule inputs from engineering, procurement, construction, startup, and project controls teams to ensure accuracy and alignment across the project.
  • Facilitate coordination meetings with project stakeholders to communicate schedule status, resolve conflicts, and ensure understanding of project schedule requirements and objectives.
  • Develop and maintain integrated master schedules that incorporate all project activities into a single, cohesive timeline.
  • Monitor project progress, evaluate schedule performance, and provide timely reporting and analysis to project and leadership teams.
  • Manage and implement schedule change control processes, ensuring all revisions are properly documented, evaluated, and incorporated while maintaining schedule integrity.
  • Support project risk management efforts by identifying schedule-related risks and opportunities and assisting in the development of mitigation and recovery plans.
  • Prepare and present schedule updates, recovery plans, progress reports, and schedule performance metrics to project teams, clients, and management.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Controls, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of technical training and relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 7-10+ years of experience in project scheduling within engineering, procurement, construction (EPC), industrial, power, nuclear, or related industries.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Primavera P6 scheduling software, including schedule development, maintenance, critical path analysis, and reporting.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience developing and maintaining integrated project schedules across multiple disciplines and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling principles, schedule forecasting, and change management processes.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain facility-specific security clearance; U.S. Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting commercial nuclear, Department of Energy (DOE), federal, or large-scale EPC projects.
  • Familiarity with Earned Value Management System (EVMS) principles and certified project controls processes.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify schedule risks, evaluate impacts, determine root causes, and develop effective corrective actions.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Proven ability to present schedule analyses, progress updates, and recovery plans to project leadership and executive stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing project requirements, urgent requests, and evolving business needs.
  • Experience supporting proposal development, project planning efforts, and schedule risk assessments.
  • Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail and commitment to schedule quality and accuracy.
