Position Overview

We are looking for a Construction Scheduler to join our team at Kiewit Nuclear Solutions. As a Construction Scheduler, you will play a critical role in planning, developing, and maintaining project schedules across a diverse portfolio of Nuclear and Department of Energy (DOE) projects. Working closely with project managers, engineers, procurement teams, construction personnel, and project controls professionals, you will support projects from conceptual planning through design, construction, and operational startup.

 

This hands-on position provides the opportunity to directly influence project success by developing integrated schedules, analyzing performance, identifying risks, and implementing corrective actions. Your expertise in schedule development, forecasting, and critical path analysis will help ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with project objectives. This role is an integral part of Kiewit Nuclear Solutions' Project Controls organization.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, designers, procurement staff, construction managers, subcontractors, and project services personnel to develop comprehensive project schedules from conceptual planning through design, construction, and operational startup.
  • Develop and maintain integrated, logic-driven schedules utilizing engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) principles and methodologies.
  • Create and maintain critical path method (CPM) schedules, logic networks, and resource-loaded schedules using Primavera P6.
  • Apply historical project data and lessons learned to support realistic planning, forecasting, and schedule development.
  • Ensure all scheduling activities comply with site-specific certified Earned Value Management System (EVMS) requirements.
  • Collect, analyze, validate, and integrate schedule inputs from all project disciplines and stakeholders.
  • Monitor project progress, identify schedule variances, and perform schedule analysis to support informed decision-making.
  • Identify scheduling issues, develop recommendations, and implement corrective actions to maintain project objectives.
  • Coordinate with project teams to ensure alignment and understanding of overall project schedule requirements.
  • Support schedule forecasting, reporting, and progress measurement activities.
  • Manage and implement schedule change control processes to maintain baseline integrity.
  • Prepare schedule reports, dashboards, and presentations for project teams and senior leadership.
  • Present schedule status, critical path impacts, recovery plans, and forecasting information to project stakeholders.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related technical discipline; equivalent technical training and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 7 years of construction scheduling experience.
  • Proficiency with Oracle Primavera P6 scheduling software.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • U.S. Citizenship required to obtain facility-specific security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous Nuclear, DOE, or large-scale EPC project experience.
  • Experience supporting projects operating under Earned Value Management System (EVMS) requirements.
  • Strong understanding of scheduling fundamentals, critical path methodology (CPM), and schedule risk analysis.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to effectively present schedule briefings and project status updates to senior leadership.
  • Proven ability to identify issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and perform effectively under pressure.
  • Flexible and responsive to urgent project requests and changing business needs.
