Location

This position is based out of our Energy Corridor Office in Houston, TX and typically requires less than 25 percent travel.

Responsibilities

•    Leads team to solutions based on internal or external demands.
•    Identifies potential issues and gaps in design and collaborates with team to direct on resolution.
•    Leads team to best cost options while maintaining safety and quality.
•    Sets pace to meet or beat schedule and deadlines.
•    Takes identified issues from team to higher level with solutions.
•    Leads and directs team for multiple projects that may use various client standards.
•    Leads and promotes team to find innovative working methods to generate new ideas.
•    Collaborates with team to find best cost solutions while maintaining quality of drawings.
•    Leads team to identify changes in scope of work during a large project and produces engineering design changes as needed to stay within budget and schedule.
•    Leads quality checks of the design drawings of a major project to ensure accuracy.

Qualifications

•     Associate degree or High School diploma + 2 years’ experience as a minimum
•     18-25 years' minimum relevant experience.
•     Travel < 25% expected.
•     Acts independently to determine methods and processes for assignments.
•     Trains and leads team of designers as needed.
•     Leads team for work with high complexity.
•     Work with project team as representative and coordinates work within discipline department.
•     Adjusts to varying demands of work and performs well.
•     Develops and presents work in well-constructed written and verbal presentations.  Clearly conveys messages and ideas, gains understanding.
•     Communicates effectively across all departments of organization.
•     Works collaboratively across departments and with field to solve problems.
•     Supports project teams and departments in a positive and productive manner. Works well with other to accomplish common goals and objectives. 
•     Advanced skills in AutoCAD.
•     Continuously looking for ways to improve processes for customers and makes recommendations for improvements.
