Position Overview
The Electrical Quality Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of electrical quality are maintained throughout large-scale industrial construction projects across the southern United States. This leadership position is responsible for enforcing rigorous quality assurance and control processes, guaranteeing compliance with company standards, client expectations, and applicable regulatory codes. Through proactive oversight and collaboration, this role drives excellence in project execution, safety, and sustainable practices, thereby contributing significantly to the overall success and reputation of our projects.
District Overview
Kiewit’s Quality Group is a shared service that maintains and executes quality standards on projects across the company. Our principal quality objectives are to meet or exceed clients’ expectations and to eliminate rework by performing our work “right the first time.” We monitor our performance against these objectives and require continual improvement.
Location
This role is project based. We have projects all throughout the Southern part of the US and candidates will be expected to work on-site at any of these locations. Travel home and project subsistence will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement tailored electrical quality management plans for each project, ensuring alignment with site-specific requirements and corporate quality standards.
- Lead comprehensive electrical QA/QC activities encompassing inspections, testing protocols, and detailed documentation to maintain project integrity.
- Analyze and interpret complex electrical drawings, technical specifications, and contractual documents to confirm compliance and preempt potential issues.
- Conduct systematic site audits and inspections to verify the quality of installations, adherence to electrical codes, and implementation of safety regulations.
- Identify, record, and manage non-conformances through root cause analysis, leading the development and enforcement of corrective and preventive action plans.
- Supervise and evaluate subcontractors and supplier workmanship, ensuring their output meets rigorous quality benchmarks and contractual obligations.
- Collaborate closely with project stakeholders—including project managers, engineers, field superintendents, and clients—to address quality concerns and deliver effective technical solutions.
- Develop and maintain exhaustive quality records, inspection reports, and turnover documentation suitable for client audits and regulatory compliance.
- Conduct training sessions and toolbox talks to instill a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement among project teams and field personnel.
- Participate proactively in project planning meetings, pre-construction kick-offs, and quality strategy discussions to embed quality principles from project inception.
- Ensure all electrical materials and equipment conform to project specifications and are appropriately managed throughout storage and handling processes.
- Support commissioning and start-up phases by verifying electrical system functionality and ensuring optimal performance standards are met.
- Monitor quality performance metrics, track trends, and champion initiatives aimed at elevating quality outcomes across all projects.
- Stay abreast of evolving industry codes, standards such as NEC and NFPA, and best practices, integrating these updates effectively within project activities.
- Champion a safety-first mindset and promote continuous quality enhancements, fostering a collaborative environment focused on excellence across all project sites.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is essential; candidates with technical education such as an associate degree or specialized training in electrical engineering or a related technical field are strongly preferred.
- A minimum of seven years’ proven experience in electrical quality management within industrial construction environments, demonstrating a track record of effectively managing quality programs.
- Comprehensive understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards, and other relevant electrical safety and quality regulations.
- Professional certifications related to quality management, such as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Construction Quality Management (CQM), or equivalent, are highly desirable to demonstrate expertise and commitment to quality excellence.
- Extensive hands-on experience with electrical inspection techniques, testing methodologies, and QA/QC documentation standards to effectively oversee quality processes.
- Strong capability in interpreting complex electrical drawings, contract documents, and technical specifications to ensure accurate quality assessment and compliance.
- Proficiency with quality management and reporting software applications, alongside advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, to facilitate efficient data analysis and reporting.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the capacity to manage multidisciplinary teams, address complex quality challenges decisively, and drive corrective action implementation.
- Exceptional communication and organizational abilities, enabling effective collaboration, training delivery, and stakeholder engagement at all project levels.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively across multiple project sites in Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi, managing responsibilities on-site with flexibility.
- Possession of OSHA 30-hour safety certification or comparable safety credentials is preferred to ensure adherence to safety regulations and promote a culture of safety.
- A valid driver's license is required to support project site mobility and business travel commitments.
