Position Overview
As a Field Support Specialist, you will help the 1HR team as we provide comprehensive services to support our projects across the Kiewit organization. You will be a face to our business in supporting Kiewit’s shared service recruiting initiatives to develop a network of positive relationships between Human Resources, Project Managers, and Craft Recruiting.

District Overview
Craft Services is an integral partner and service provider at Kiewit. In recent years, we have gone from decentralized HR groups to a unified, shared service team, with various HR Centers of Excellence. Our vision is to be a best-in-class international HR organization.
Location
This position is based out of Houston, Texas. This is a shared service center in a professional office setting. This position also requires 50% travel.
Responsibilities
• Proactively develop business relationships and customer service skills working with Site Point of Contact, candidates, and Project Operations to provide the best service during the hiring process.
• Train project personnel on field HR processes
• Serve as liaison between project needs and centralized craft recruiting teams
• Perform employment/ Human Resources activities such as onboarding, administration of drug tests, etc.
• Manage processes and policies relating to day-to-day human resource operations and compliance
• Partner with Centers of Excellence to meet customer needs and execute the human resource business plan
• Consult with management to facilitate initiatives that support employee performance, engagement, and retention
• Sponsor an effective on-boarding process to ensure consistent messaging across the organization
• Provide coaching and support to operations, field management and others
• Provide guidance and support to managers in the areas of performance management, employee relations and career development
• Lead with continuous improvement mindset to positively impact employee engagement.
• Build and maintain relationships with all levels of employees
• Utilize and implement various human resource information systems (HRIS) and provide support to employees and managers
• Run Ad hoc reports out of multiple systems to provide relevant data to the business
Qualifications
• Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or closely related field (must be awarded by the start date of this position)
• Bilingual in Spanish and English is preferred
• Knowledge of construction safety and current federal & OSHA requirements is preferred
• Ability to handle confidential information in strict confidence and with great sensitivity
• Knowledge of or familiarity with ATS systems (Success Factors is preferred)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal and facilitation skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• High degree of attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies and determine patterns
• Works independently as well as part of a team
• Must be a self-starter willing to do what it takes to get the job done
• Must be willing to travel up to 50%, including overnight trips
