Position Overview
Kiewit is seeking a technically skilled and experienced Corporate Quality Lead to oversee quality assurance and control for data center construction projects across North America. This role is critical to ensuring that Kiewit’s data center builds meet stringent client specifications, industry standards, and internal quality benchmarks.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, construction, and quality systems, with specific experience in mission-critical infrastructure such as data centers. This individual will lead the development and execution of quality strategies, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives tailored to the unique demands of hyperscale and enterprise data center environments.
District Overview
Kiewit’s Quality Group is a shared service that maintains and executes quality standards on projects across the company. Our principal quality objectives are to meet or exceed clients’ expectations and to eliminate rework by performing our work “right the first time.” We monitor our performance against these objectives and require continual improvement.
Location
We are open for this position to sit in either Houston TX or our offices in Lenexa KS.
Responsibilities
• Lead the quality strategy and execution for data center construction projects across the company.
• Develop and implement project-specific quality plans, procedures, and audit protocols.
• Ensure compliance with client specifications, industry codes (e.g., Uptime Institute, ASHRAE, IEEE), and internal standards.
• Collaborate with project teams, engineering, and commissioning groups to ensure quality is embedded throughout the project lifecycle.
• Conduct quality audits and inspections, analyze findings, and drive corrective actions and continuous improvement.
• Serve as the technical authority on quality matters related to electrical, mechanical, and structural systems in data centers.
• Mentor and support regional and project-level quality managers and engineers.
• Interface with clients and stakeholders to communicate quality performance and resolve issues proactively.
• Develop and maintain quality metrics dashboards to track performance across multiple projects.
• Support root cause analysis and corrective action processes for major quality issues.
• Lead lessons learned workshops and integrate findings into future project planning.
• Ensure proper documentation and traceability of quality records, inspections, and testing.
• Coordinate with procurement and subcontractors to ensure quality requirements are clearly defined and met.
• Participate in commissioning and turnover activities, ensuring quality deliverables are complete and accurate.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in data center construction and quality management.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 10 years of experience in quality management within the construction or engineering industry, with at least 5 years focused on data center or mission-critical projects.
• Deep understanding of data center systems, including electrical distribution, HVAC, fire protection, and commissioning processes.
• Experience with ISO 9001, LEAN construction, and other quality frameworks.
• Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
• Certifications such as CQA, CQE, or PMP are highly desirable.
• Willingness to travel to project sites across North America.
