Position Overview

The Preservation Program Manager is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and overseeing preservation and maintenance programs that protect and extend the life of facilities, infrastructure, equipment, historical assets, or operational systems. This position ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, manages budgets and resources, develops long-term preservation strategies, and coordinates with internal and external stakeholders to maintain asset integrity, reliability, and value.

Location

This position will be based at our Energy Corridor office with extensive travel responsibilities for projects. Responsibilities

Program Management
•    Develop, implement, and manage preservation and asset management programs. 
•    Establish long-term preservation strategies and maintenance plans. 
•    Monitor program performance and recommend improvements. 
•    Ensure preservation activities align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements. 
•    Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure program effectiveness. 
Asset Assessment and Planning
•    Conduct condition assessments of facilities, infrastructure, equipment, or assets. 
•    Prioritize preservation projects based on risk, condition, criticality, and budget constraints. 
•    Develop lifecycle management plans and replacement strategies. 
•    Maintain accurate asset inventories and preservation records. 
Project Management
•    Plan and coordinate preservation, rehabilitation, restoration, and maintenance projects. 
•    Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and resource plans. 
•    Monitor project progress and ensure completion within established timelines and budgets. 
•    Coordinate contractors, consultants, vendors, and internal teams. 
Budget and Financial Management
•    Develop and manage annual and multi-year preservation budgets. 
•    Prepare cost estimates and funding requests. 
•    Track expenditures and ensure efficient use of resources. 
•    Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements. 
Compliance and Risk Management
•    Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, local, and organizational regulations. 
•    Develop and maintain preservation standards, procedures, and policies. 
•    Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies. 
•    Support audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews. 
Stakeholder Coordination
•    Collaborate with operations, engineering, maintenance, construction, and management teams. 
•    Communicate program objectives, schedules, and progress to stakeholders. 
•    Prepare reports, presentations, and recommendations for leadership. 
•    Serve as the primary point of contact for preservation-related initiatives. 
Safety and Quality Assurance
•    Promote a strong safety culture and ensure safe work practices. 
•    Verify preservation activities comply with quality standards and specifications. 
•    Conduct field inspections and quality reviews. 
•    Investigate deficiencies and implement corrective actions. 

Qualifications

•    Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Historic Preservation, Asset Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. 
•    5–10 years of experience in preservation, maintenance, facilities management, infrastructure management, or related disciplines. 
•    Experience managing projects, budgets, and multidisciplinary teams. 
•    Strong knowledge of asset management principles and lifecycle planning. 
•    Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or asset management software. 
•    Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. 
•    Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP). 
•    Asset Management or Facilities Management certifications. 
•    Experience in industrial, utility, transportation, government, or historical preservation environments. 
•    Strong leadership and organizational skills. 
•    Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. 
•    Budget planning and financial analysis skills. 
•    Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and reports. 
•    Knowledge of regulatory and safety requirements. 
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
•    Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
