Position Overview
As an Underground Pipe Clerk, you will play a vital role in supporting underground utility operations by ensuring the accuracy, organization, and proper documentation of all pipe and material deliveries to the project site. Your work directly supports field crews, project engineers, and construction leadership, helping maintain smooth workflow, compliance, and productivity on complex underground installations.

District Overview
Kiewit Power Constructors (KPC) provides direct-hire construction services for Power Generation utilizing a union craft force. Kiewit Power Constructors builds major EPC power plant and solar projects throughout North America. We offer integrated engineering, procurement, construction and startup service needs, specializing in gas and coal-fired power generation, coal retrofit and renewable energy.
Location
This position is based out of Homer City, PA.
Responsibilities
- Input pipe and material delivery data into project systems to ensure accurate tracking of quantities, sizes, heat numbers, and installation progress.
- Work closely with the Underground HDPE group to status welds and maintain accurate weld records.
- Sync welding data from iPads in the office to the machines in the field, ensuring data is up to date and properly transferred.
- Spend approximately 90% of the time in the office, with some daily trips to the field to collect data loggers and support weld tracking.
- Provide day‑to‑day administrative and field support for underground utility crews, including document control, meeting coordination, communication support, and schedule updates.
- Collaborate with field engineers, foremen, and superintendents to support daily production needs, material verification, and project documentation requirements.
- Maintain and organize material tickets, load slips, delivery receipts, and inventory logs to ensure accurate reconciliation with procurement and project controls.
- Assist with gathering, organizing, and reviewing information for as‑built documentation, including pipe layouts, depths, structures, and installation records.
- Support inspection and compliance workflows by coordinating test reports, compaction results, pressure test records, and other quality‑related documents.
- Manage expense reports, invoices, and purchasing card transactions related to underground material orders, rentals, and field purchases.
- Track daily production, labor, equipment, and material usage, and prepare related reports for field leadership and project management.
- Utilize strong organizational and technology skills to manage digital records, workflows, and field‑to‑office data transfer; all technical training beyond these basics will be provided.
Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Comfortable using peripheral technology such as scanners, printers, digital cameras, and field documentation tools.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple tasks, and maintain organized, accurate records.
- Ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization, including field crews, engineers, and leadership.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and accuracy in data entry and documentation.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding project information, personnel records, and sensitive documents.
- Collaborative, proactive team player with a willingness to support both field and office teams.
