Position Overview

The Quality Assurance Auditor ensures full implementation of the District Quality Assurance Program (DQAP) across projects by conducting scheduled audits, verifying compliance with quality standards, and reviewing documentation. This role acts as an objective liaison between project teams and clients, promoting adherence to procedures and fostering constructive resolution of quality issues.

District Overview

Kiewit Energy Canada is headquartered in Calgary, Alberta.  We are a major industrial contractor that work on projects that involve construction of oil & gas facilities such as oilsands processing, including steam–assisted gravity drainage facilities, upgrading & refining, midstream facilities, power & co-generation, terminal projects (ex. LNG, LPG, etc.), and major mine developments.  We also have a Modular Yard facility in Edmonton, Alberta. Our engineering branch is a leading-edge division that offers innovative engineering services for our current projects and new pursuits in Canada.  Our design services group are based in Calgary and Houston offering expertise in process, piping, mechanical, electrical and civil/structural disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain the District Quality Assurance Program (DQAP) and Project Quality Plan (PQP).
  • Develop and manage audit schedules; conduct independent audits of processes, operations, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Verify compliance with quality procedures, codes, and standards through field observations and documentation reviews.
  • Audit third-party inspection/testing companies and ensure subcontractor adherence to PQP.
  • Review and organize quality documentation per project turnover requirements.
  • Prepare audit reports, metrics, and corrective action plans; track closure of findings.
  • Identify quality trends and collaborate on mitigation strategies.
  • Provide training on quality plans and mentor jobsite quality personnel.
  • Utilize InEight Completions for audit records, lessons learned, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of construction codes and standards (ACI, AWS, ASME, NEC, etc.).
  • Certifications from ACI, AWS, API, ICBO, ASNT, NACE, etc. are an asset.
  • Strong understanding of civil, concrete, and major construction disciplines.
  • Ability to manage audits objectively and resolve conflicts professionally.
