Position Summary

Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers (KIE) is seeking Design-Build Engineers to support design on design-build infrastructure pursuits and projects. Design-Build infrastructure projects include transportation, transit, technical bridge, hydro-electric, and water/waste water projects. The Design-Build Engineer will be responsible for providing senior level design management support to meet project financial, schedule, and construction objectives, consistent with KIE Standard Operating Procedures.

Responsibilities

• Leads task forces for assigned design disciplines during a pursuit or project
• Responsible for completion of project design tasks within assigned disciplines, in accordance with project design criteria and project management plans
• Ensures KIE Standard Operating Procedures are communicated and followed
• Controls cost of the design and all engineering services
• Manages quantities and constructability throughout the design process for assigned design discipline
• Has the flexibility to work within multiple design disciplines
• Monitors and reports progress against design schedule
• Facilitates value engineering efforts
• Partners with design discipline lead and construction estimator/superintendent to meet project objectives

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in engineering, construction management or related degree, or equivalent experience in a construction-related position
• 5+ years of related professional experience in infrastructure design and construction
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Working knowledge of computers and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Strong written and verbal communications skills
• Good attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies
• Strong work ethic and willing to do what it takes to get the job done
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environment
• Ability to travel as business requires (50-75%)
