District Overview

Kiewit’s Central District is one of our largest infrastructure districts specializing in heavy civil, structural concrete/bridge, water/wastewater, and transportation projects. We self-perform work such as mass grading, drainage, paving, utility and more - so be ready to get your hands dirty! While headquartered in Denver, Colorado, the majority of our work is concentrated in the Central and South-Central regions of the United States. We are looking for people committed to the construction industry rather than design.

Location

This role will support Kiewit’s Central District out of Englewood, CO or Bisbee, Arizona. 

Responsibilities
  • Work within Project Wise, AutoCAD and Trimble Business Center to perform calculations required for survey requests and 3D machine control. 
  • Maintain the files for utility locations, potholes and as-builts. 
  • Navigate through Project Wise to pull designer CAD files and check them with the Plan PDF’s to ensure accuracy, calculate additional Survey points for field crew layouts etc.
  • Work with and support the Survey manager with calculations and insure the latest plans and digital files are being issued and used (QC Design files etc.). 
  • Train new rotational employees through the surveying department.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience with CAD in a Heavy Civil, Water Treatment or Industrial construction environment. 
  • Experience with Project Wise highly preferred 
  • Experience with Trimble Business Center, OR AutoCAD highly preferred 
  • Self-starter with the ability to set standards of excellence in leadership, safety, quality and productivity
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work individually and as a team
  • Committed to working safe and getting the job done right the first time
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be willing to work long hours or weekends as needed
