Position Overview

Reporting to the Superintendent, the Traffic Control Supervisor plays an essential role in project execution by leading the planning and implementation of traffic setups on the construction sites. The Traffic Control Supervisor shall be responsible for making sure traffic control on site are implemented as per agreed plans. This dynamic role is focused on assisting in developing and maintaining traffic control plans, monitoring of traffic operation in construction zones, lane closure measurement and site supervision.

Location
The position will be based on our project in Darlington, ON. The successful candidate will be local to Darlington, Oshawa or surrounding areas, or willing to relocate.

Responsibilities
- Supervise equipment and traffic on site and ensure operations are executed with world-class levels of safety.
- Direct all traffic control operations on the site and coordinate with all stakeholders and contractors working on the project.
- Supervise traffic setups implemented on site to ensure compliance with traffic and logistic plans.
- Liaise with the city and other transit authorities as required.
- Respond to traffic-related incidents resulting from construction activities and traffic management activities.
- Work jointly with the Site Manager, General Superintendents, and Logistics Lead to plan equipment movement and traffic around work zones.
- Document traffic control measures and activities.
- Oversee all requirements of the project agreement that contribute to the safety, convenience, and orderly movement of vehicular, cycling, and pedestrian traffic.
- Attend regularly scheduled traffic management meetings.
Qualifications
- 5-10 years’ minimum experience working in traffic supervision, traffic management, or site management.
- Skilled in AutoCAD, BlueBeam, and preparation of logistics plans is preferred.
- Good understanding of Ontario Book 7 Manual for work zones setup.
- Experience working in a construction environment is a requirement.
- Post-secondary education and/or work experience in a related field.
- Sound knowledge of MS Office suite, including Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of traffic best practices, traffic regulations, and conditions is required.
- Results-oriented with the ability to effectively manage and multi-task priorities, timelines, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional time management skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. #LI-GH
