Position Overview

We are looking for a Quality Control inspector (Mechanical) to join our team. This role requires someone who can work well with the project team and client personnel, communicate effectively, and handle various tasks efficiently. The ideal candidate should have a mindset focused on continuous improvement and quality control.

Location

This position is based in Darlington, ON. Candidates should be local to Darlington, Oshawa, or nearby areas, or be willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement project-specific inspection and test plans.
  • Review and approve subcontractor inspection and test plans.
  • Interpret and implement quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with district quality management for consistent implementation.
  • Perform vendor assessments.
  • Performing receiving inspection, in process and final inspection.
  • Determine required frequency of inspections and tests.
  • Coordinate with operations to schedule quality inspections and tests to maintain production goals.
  • Verify inspection and test compliance with the applicable contract documents, codes and standards.
  • Correctly interpret and utilized codes and industry standards to determine compliance of the work.
  • Preparing full data reports and interfacing with regulatory authorities.
  • Participate in operation planning sessions.
  • Preparing welding mapping and doing welding inspections.
  • Coordination of Non Destructive Testing vendors.
  • Conducting measurement and testing using calibrated equipment.
  • Ensure all quality documentation is completed and organized.
  • Present at meetings to communicate quality expectations and discuss issues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Managing NCR process related to a construction project.
  • Understand and respond appropriately to all safety hazards and warning devices (i.e. back-up alarms, smell of smoke, different colored warning tags, warning sirens.)

Qualifications

  • Diploma or certifications to CWB level 2 in accordance to CSA 178.2.
  • 5+ years of experience in nuclear, mechanical construction.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to access all points of a construction site.
  • Willingness to travel and relocate as needed. #LI-IS1
