Position Overview
Reporting to the Planning Manager, the Lead Planner will be responsible for providing project controls support to ongoing mega-projects in the Nuclear sector.

Location
The position will be based on our project in Darlington, ON. The successful candidate will be local to Darlington, Oshawa or surrounding areas, or willing to relocate.

Responsibilities
- Lead project set‑up activities, including WBS creation, control accounts, and establishing cost/schedule baselines.
- Lead performance review meetings and communicate project status to stakeholders.
- Mentor junior team members and deliver hands‑on training.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, lessons learned, and best practices in Project Controls.
- Prepare and maintain project reports, forecasts, dashboards, and customized reporting tools.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders (Finance, Accounting, Procurement, Construction) to gather inputs for reports.
- Develop and manage resource plans and ensure cost–schedule alignment.
- Conduct variance analysis, prepare narratives, and recommend corrective actions.
- Produce and analyze project performance metrics (CPI, SPI, productivity)
- Support Earned Value Management and maintain EVM‑related tools and templates.
- Develop, update, and maintain complex resource‑loaded P6 schedules and basis‑of‑schedule documentation.
- Prepare fragnets, schedule lookaheads, resource profiles, and other P6 outputs.
- Identify schedule variances, logic gaps, delays, and develop recovery plans.
- Track progress updates, maintain schedule change logs, and perform critical path analysis.
- Conduct schedule quality assessments (e.g., Acumen Fuse) and implement improvements.
- Support change management and risk management through schedule impact reviews.
- Manage subcontractor schedules and ensure schedule integration and quality.
- Maintain baselines, manage approved changes, and lead re‑baseline efforts when required.
- Perform field progress verification tours.
- Support development of Project Controls Plans and Schedule Management Plans.
- Ensure regular archival of project schedule backups in client P6 environments.
Qualifications
- 8–12 years of related experience
- Demonstrated analytical and adaptive thinking
- Quantitative, engineering, or construction management post-secondary degree
- Strong team collaboration skills
- Detail-oriented approach with a focus on quality
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Agility and flexibility in a dynamic environment
- Innovative problem-solving skills
- Project Controls Ambassador experience
- EPC contractor (self-perform) experience
- Construction field experience
- Mega-project or portfolio project experience
- Demonstrated project controls technical knowledge (e.g., PMI or AACE certification)
- Stakeholder management experience
- Strategic orientation
- Consensus-building experience
- Claims avoidance and/or claims negotiation experience
- Microsoft Excel expertise
- Advanced Primavera P6 expertise
- Completion of a full security clearance and background check.

Base Compensation: 99,000/yr - $149,000/yr
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
