Position Overview

Kiewit Mining Group, Inc. is seeking a growth orientated early career engineer to support our Grindstone Quarry 45 miles west of Ft. Worth, Texas. This role would be geared towards someone that would want to learn the quarry/crushing side of our business and to grow with additional opportunities at this quarry or others.  Further, this is a brand new operation that would allow you to be a part of growing this operation from the ground up.  Mining or Civil Engineers with 0-2 years of experience preferred, but will consider all engineering disciplines and experience levels.  Overall expectation would be to learn every aspect of the project and cross train with all of the Superintendents to learn every function of an operating quarry. #LI-WJ1

Responsibilities

  • Learning and supporting all facets of the operation including Mining/Quarrying, Crushing/screening
  • Maintenance of rolling stock and crushing equipment
  • Mine Planning, Surveying, Budgeting
  • Developing Cut Plans 
  • Quantity estimating and verification
  • Concurrent reclamation planning
  • Weekly and Monthly drone and conventional surveying for quantity 
  • Project Controls and scheduling 
  • Cost tracking
  • Month end quantities and inventory reporting 
  • Fill-In Supervising for respective Discipline Superintendents as needed 
  • Aggregate sales and billing support
  • Environmental inspections and reporting
     

Qualifications

•    Ability to travel and relocate as needed
•    Undergraduate or graduate degree in Mining, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field
•    Mining field experience is a plus
•    Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in a wide-ranging climates and environments 
•    Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative
•    Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time
•    Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity
•    Passion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurt
•    Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
•    Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives
•    Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail
