Position Overview

Be part of building a best-in-class electrical training program from the ground up—leading hands-on training while working as part of a highly integrated team.

Kiewit is seeking an experienced Electrical Training & Development Coordinator to support the startup and operation of a new Electrical Training Facility in the Dallas–Fort Worth (DFW) area. This role is designed for a seasoned construction professional who can translate real-world practices into structured, measurable training programs that produce field-ready craft professionals.

 

This position operates within a team-based structure:

  • Reports to a Master Electrician, who provides technical direction, standards, and program oversight
  • Leads the day-to-day execution of training programs and trainee development
  • Works in close partnership with a Training Engineer, who supports planning, tools, tracking, and coordination

The Coordinator is the primary leader on the training floor, responsible for ensuring training is executed effectively, safely, and in alignment with field expectations.

While strong electrical experience is preferred, Kiewit is also open to high-performing candidates with strong construction fundamentals, leadership ability, and the aptitude to develop electrical expertise.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) capability is strongly preferred to support training delivery and communication across a diverse workforce.

Location

This position will be based at a new Electrical Training Facility currently being developed in the Dallas–Fort Worth (DFW) area.

The selected candidate must be located in DFW or willing to relocate in alignment with facility startup and program launch.

Occasional regional travel may be required to support project needs, workforce deployment, and training alignment.

Responsibilities

Training Leadership & Execution

  • Lead the day-to-day execution of electrical training programs in alignment with standards set by the Master Electrician
  • Deliver hands-on training focused on field-ready installation practices, safety, and quality
  • Supervise trainees during training, mockups, and prefab builds
  • Ensure all training meets defined performance, safety, and quality expectations

Team Integration & Coordination

  • Work in close partnership with the Training Engineer to coordinate schedules, materials, and daily training activities
  • Leverage the Training Engineer for planning, digital tools, tracking, and documentation
  • Translate plans into execution—ensuring training activities are carried out effectively on the floor
  • Maintain alignment between training operations, facility readiness, and workforce needs

Technical & Craft Development

  • Support training in:
    o Electrical installation methods, tools, and equipment
    o NEC compliance and electrical safety
    o NCCER and certification pathways
    o Apprenticeship-aligned development and OJT expectations
  • Reinforce technical standards established by the Master Electrician
  • Evaluate trainee skill levels and progression using defined benchmarks

Program Execution & Workforce Readiness

  • Execute training programs to meet targets for completion, competency, and field readiness
  • Ensure trainees are prepared for safe and productive jobsite deployment
  • Provide input on trainee readiness, strengths, and development needs

Prefab & Field Integration

  • Lead hands-on training in prefab/shop environments aligned to real field installations
  • Execute standardized builds tied to project work packages
  • Reinforce installation sequencing, material readiness, and productivity expectations

Safety & Quality Leadership

  • Enforce safety standards including OSHA-10, JHA participation, and safe work practices
  • Maintain a “No plan, no work” culture within the training environment
  • Reinforce quality expectations including inspections, tolerances, and first-pass success

Bilingual Workforce Support

  • Provide bilingual (English/Spanish) support during training and onboarding as needed
  • Ensure training is clearly understood across varying experience and language levels

Continuous Improvement & Feedback

  • Provide feedback to the Master Electrician and Training Engineer on program effectiveness
  • Support improvements to training materials, delivery methods, and hands-on exercises
  • Contribute to ongoing development of a high-performing training program.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years of construction experience; electrical experience strongly preferred
  • Journeyman Electrician license preferred (flexibility for strong candidates with leadership and field experience)
  • Experience leading crews, training, or mentoring craft professionals
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing and field execution
  • Ability to work effectively within a team-based structure alongside engineering support
  • Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or scheduling tools a plus
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred. #LI-KS23
