District Overview

HR Operations for Kiewit is an integral partner and service provider at Kiewit.  In recent years, we have gone from decentralized HR groups to a unified, shared service team, with various HR Centers of Excellence.  Our vision is to be a best-in-class international HR organization.

Location

This temporary position is located in Calgary. The role is initially a 6-month contract with the potential for extension or transition to a permanent role, providing an excellent pathway into a stable and rewarding career within the company.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively source candidates using LinkedIn Recruiter, ATS, job boards, referrals, and market mapping techniques
  • Conduct resume reviews and initial screening interviews to assess skills, experience, and role fit
  • Evaluate candidates against job requirements, competencies, and hiring criteria
  • Manage candidate progress through the early stages of the recruitment process
  • Ensure a positive candidate experience through timely communication and follow‑ups
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date candidate records in the ATS

Qualifications

  • Degree in administration, human resources, communications, or a related discipline
  • Two years + of comprehensive recruitment experience, including significant exposure to the construction or engineering sectors. 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective influence and collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Experience negotiating job offers and a solid understanding of business environments bolster your ability to align talent strategies with company objectives.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Linkedin is essential.

  • Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.
  • Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.
  • May work at various different locations and conditions may vary
