Position Overview
Kiewit is seeking a motivated and resourceful Craft Recruiter to play a key role in meeting workforce demands for high-volume skilled trades positions across multiple construction projects. This role partners with project teams and hiring managers to attract, hire, and onboard qualified craft workers.
District Overview

Location
This position is based out of Calgary, AB. This is a full time in office role.
Responsibilities
- Conduct full-cycle recruitment for skilled trades positions, from sourcing through onboarding.
- Partner with project teams to understand workforce needs, required certifications, and mobilization timelines.
- Build and maintain talent pipelines using ATS platforms, networking, referrals, social media, career fairs, community outreach, and other sourcing strategies.
- Manage job requisitions, postings, candidate records, and recruitment documentation.
- Provide hiring updates, workforce forecasts, recruitment metrics, and labour market insights.
- Support internal transfers and recruitment marketing initiatives.
- Continuously improve recruiting processes, workflows, and sourcing strategies while leveraging recruitment technology and industry best practices
Qualifications
- 2+ years of recruitment experience, preferably in high-volume skilled trades, construction, or industrial environments.
- Demonstrated success in sourcing, screening, interviewing, and hiring skilled craft workers.
- Experience supporting workforce planning and project ramp-ups.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while working effectively both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
- Experience recruiting skilled craft workers or tradespeople in the construction or industrial sector is preferred.
- Experience recruiting for unionized workforces and large-scale construction projects is considered an asset.
Preferred Systems & Technology Experience:
- SuccessFactors, Talent Navigator, and other ATS platforms.
- Indeed, LinkedIn Recruiter, and other talent sourcing platforms.
- Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Office Suite, and Power BI.
- AI productivity tools, including Microsoft Copilot and ChatGPT. #LI-AK1
