As an Operations Sponsor, you wil work with various Project Management team members from different projects to manage the overall performance for commercial construction projects and have direct client relations responsibility. You will also provide oversight of the estimation and complete project management of multiple project teams.

District Overview

Kiewit’s Western Canada District is headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia.  We primarily perform heavy civil projects specializing in earth moving, transportation, roadways, bridges, water resources, and underground utilities. We are looking for hard working individuals with a passion for construction who aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty! Our current opportunities are spread across the entire west coast of Canada.

This position will be based out of Burnaby, BC 

Responsibilities

 

  • Championing Kieiwit projects and getting buy in throughout the organization
  • Successfully launching a project ensuring the business need is validated and correctly prioritized
  • Participate in business development efforts by identifying future work opportunities at existing projects and assist the business development team with the creation of estimates and proposals.
  • Providing business expertise and guidance to Project Managers to help with key business and project decisions.
  • Act as the link between internal and external stakeholders including; the project, partners, sub-contractors, the business community and District leadership teams
  • Establish project organization, roles and structure to ensure each employee is being effectively utilized and developed while assigned
  • Ensure business needs are identified and effective plans are in place to help prioritize and launch projects 
  • Overseeing the project to ensure it remains a viable business proposition, changes are managed, and risks are assessed
Qualifications
  • At least 12+ years’ related experience building or estimating heavy civil construction and infrastructure projects
  • Ideally have a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or similar
  • Experience leading multi-million-dollar contracts, including ownership of operations, project administration, client relations and all other scopes relative to large construction projects
  • Competent in the use of computer software applications used for project control and administration, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook
