Position Overview
KNS has an opening for a mid-career operational estimator in our growing team. You will be part of our rapidly growing nuclear market, which includes civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical disciplines. This role will support quantity takeoffs, project status, and change orders. Also involved in work package development.

Location
This position is based at one of KNS's office locations: Lenexa, KS; Oak Ridge, TN; Aiken, SC; or Idaho Falls, ID.
Responsibilities
- Review, analyze, and interpret Contract Documents (RFP, specifications, etc.).
- Perform all tasks related to quantity takeoff and pricing of design-build projects in the nuclear market
- Support work package scoping and development
- Coordinate with estimators and engineers/designers to provide constructability input and value engineering for preliminary project plans.
- Participate in the planning process, brainstorms, and working sessions with estimators and engineers/designers.
• Identify, quantify, and communicate Risk throughout the estimating process.
• Performing site visits and investigations as needed.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related degree preferred
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in estimating and quantity takeoffs
• Proficiency in one core discipline
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products (e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Possess strong mathematical and computer skills
- Must be able to meet deadlines
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Candidates must possess a strong work ethic
- Work independently as well as part of a team
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies
- Must be willing to travel as the job requires
- This role requires a facility-specific clearance that requires U.S. citizenship to obtain.
Working Conditions
This position may require working on an active construction site.
