Position Overview

The Summer Administrative Management Assistant will provide on-site administrative management support for a large-scale data center construction project. The Assistant supports construction administration activities in a fast-paced environment, helping to maintain accurate documentation, facilitate communication, and keep workflows organized as the project progresses. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, initiative, and professionalism, along with the ability to adapt quickly to changing project needs. Working closely with project leadership and the administrative team, the Summer Administrative Management Assistant contributes to the efficiency and organization of both field and office operations while gaining valuable exposure to construction project management processes and real-world jobsite operations throughout the summer term, with the assignment scheduled to run through August 7th.

 

District Overview

The Kiewit Industrial District delivers direct-hire construction services for complex industrial projects across the United States. Our work spans multiple sectors, including data centers, mineral processing, energy and water, with projects ranging from small capital work to major EPC projects.

 

Location

This position is based on-site in Abilene, Texas full-time.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day administrative support for on-site project operations, including meeting coordination, calendar management, phone and email communication, and general office support for the Project Frontier team
  • Collaborate closely with project leadership, field teams, subcontractors, and administrative staff to support ongoing project needs and special initiatives
  • Assist with preparation, organization, and distribution of project documentation such as reports, logs, presentations, and other administrative materials
  • Support internal and external communications through basic drafting, editing, organizing, and tracking correspondence and project information as directed
  • Process and track expense reports, invoices, purchase orders, and purchasing card transactions in accordance with company and project procedures
  • Maintain basic budget tracking and assist with preparing administrative or financial reports for project and company use
  • Coordinate, schedule, and support interdepartmental and cross-company meetings, including preparing agendas, taking notes, and tracking follow-up items

Qualifications

•    Prior administrative support experience required

•    Currently enrolled in a college or university program, or a recent graduate within the past year

•    Strong written and verbal communication skills

•    Strong expertise in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

•    Solid skills with peripheral technology such as printers, digital cameras, scanners and A/V equipment

•    Previous track record of successfully meeting deadlines and project expectations

•    Ability to work with people at all levels of the organization, including senior leadership, as needed

•    Outstanding attention to detail and strong organizational skills

•    Ability to maintain strict confidence of important, sensitive information and materials

•    Enthusiastic team player with an interest in helping the team stay connected and working effectively together
