Position Overview
Kiewit is seeking an experienced Structural Steel Superintendent to provide field leadership and oversight for structural steel construction activities. This individual will be responsible for coordinating crews, subcontractors, equipment, materials, schedules, safety, quality, and production to ensure structural steel work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project plans and specifications.
The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on knowledge of structural steel erection and the ability to lead complex field operations while collaborating closely with project management, engineering, subcontractors, suppliers, and craft personnel.

Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee structural steel field operations, including steel erection and associated construction activities.
- Provide supervisory direction to foremen and craft personnel with a strong focus on safety, quality, productivity, and schedule.
- Plan and coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and work sequencing.
- Coordinate structural steel activities with project management, engineering, other superintendents, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Review construction drawings, specifications, work plans, schedules, and other project documentation.
- Monitor daily field activities and progress to identify potential construction or scheduling issues.
- Ensure structural steel work meets project quality requirements, drawings, specifications, and applicable safety requirements.
- Assist with short- and long-term construction planning and scheduling.
- Monitor productivity and help identify opportunities to improve field execution.
- Coordinate material deliveries and equipment requirements to maintain efficient workflow.
- Promote Kiewit's commitment to safety and quality throughout field operations.
- Mentor and develop foremen and field personnel while establishing accountability for safety, quality, production, and schedule performance.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of construction experience with demonstrated structural steel experience.
- Previous supervisory experience as a Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, General Foreman, or similar field leadership position.
- Strong knowledge of structural steel construction and erection operations required.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise craft personnel, foremen, and subcontractors.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, sequencing, scheduling, and field planning.
- Knowledge of construction safety, quality, productivity, and cost-control practices.
- Strong communication, leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively coordinate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and craft personnel.
- Ability and willingness to travel and/or relocate according to project needs.
