Position Overview

As a Quality Technician, you play a key role in supporting strategic infrastructure projects across Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi. These initiatives include the development of AI data centers, improvements in energy reliability, and enhancements to community resilience. Working closely with both the Infrastructure and Power teams, you serve as a quality control focal point, helping ensure that project execution aligns with established standards and requirements.
Your responsibilities include acting as a liaison between departments, supporting team members, and developing a strong understanding of the project scope and schedule as it relates to your assignment. Through collaboration and precision, you help ensure that these projects are built to last and meet the highest standards.

District Overview

Kiewit's South Central District is one of Kiewit's leading infrastructure districts specializing in heavy civil, transportation, and water resource markets. Projects you could be working on could include mass grading, drainage, paving, utility and more.  Although most of our work is regionally based in the south-central region of the United States, we also pursue various projects stretching across the United States. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about infrastructure and committed to the construction industry as opposed to design.

Location

This position will support our civil scope on large scale data center projects in TX.  Project sites include Abilene and El Paso TX.

Responsibilities

•    Perform testing on aggregates and asphalt for material properties for conformance to requirements.
•    Support team members in their roles as a program focal point for quality control, acting as a liaison with other functional departments. 
•    Develop a thorough understanding of the project scope and schedule as they relate to his/her specific assignment.
•    Understanding of TXDOT and local municipality specifications
•    Report test results to upper management and recognize failing materials
•    Ability to understand asphalt and aggregate properties

Qualifications

•    Degree in Geology, Civil Engineering or related field preferred
•    Self-starter with exceptional organization and interpersonal skills
•    Working knowledge of the specific trade of discipline (i.e. civil, structural, electrical) as assigned, with associated special processes, inspection and testing techniques - preferred
•    Working knowledge of construction industry preferred
•    Certifications issued from ACI, AGG101, SB101, SB102, Level 1A, 1B and level 2 preferred. Training provided and ability to obtain certifications within 6 months.
•    Ability to gain additional certifications to support project testing and inspection
•    Capability to work extended construction hours during high seasons and potential night shifts.
•    Ability to work as a team, strong communication skills, evaluating technical documents, some experience in a lab preferred.
