Position Overview

The Concrete Superintendent will oversee and manage all phases of concrete construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety regulations. This role involves planning, coordinating, and supervising workers, focusing on marine heavy civil and structural concrete projects.

TIC - The Industrial Company is a subsidiary of Kiewit Corporation. TIC Marine and Heavy Civil self-performs projects with company-owned equipment for public and private sectors. The markets we operate in include dock construction and repair, bridge construction, road construction, mechanical bridge rehabilitation and retrofitting, foundation pile, erosion control structures, drainage structures, shop fabrication, industrial maintenance and varied concrete work.

Responsibilities

  • Project Planning and Coordination: Plan and coordinate concrete construction projects from start to finish.
  • Daily Operations Management: Oversee daily operations on the construction site.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure that all safety regulations are followed.
  • Team Supervision: Organize and direct construction workers and subcontractors.
  • Quality Control: Inspect all work during construction to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
  • Cost Estimation and Scheduling: Estimate costs and set schedules for the project.
  • Problem Resolution: Resolve any issues that arise during the construction process.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Communicate with project owners, architects, engineers, and contractors.
  • Reporting: Prepare and submit progress and cost tracking reports.
  • Materials and Equipment Management: Order and manage materials and equipment.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in marine concrete construction supervisory roles.
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Education: A degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in construction safety and management are advantageous.

Additional Duties:

  • Logistics Management: Manage logistics for crews, crane barges, and tugboats.
  • Safety Meetings: Conduct daily safety meetings and perform routine safety inspections.
  • Documentation: Document daily safety meetings and report any accidents.
