Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent to lead and oversee operations within our Electrical Fabrication Shop supporting power construction projects. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day shop schedules, ensuring quality fabrication of electrical components, maintaining safety standards, and coordinating with field operations to meet project schedules.


The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong electrical knowledge, fabrication experience, scheduling knowledge and the ability to drive productivity, quality, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced construction environment.

Location

This position can begin in either Port Arthur, TX, Chattanooga, TN, or Pittsburg, KS.

Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

  • Supervise and manage all activities within the electrical fabrication shop, including power distribution centers, conduit fabrication, switchgear assembly, and related electrical systems.
  • Plan, schedule, and prioritize shop workload to meet project deadlines and field requirements.
  • Ability to relay information to management to clear any and all road blocks as it relates to schedule.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and field superintendents to align fabrication output with construction needs.

Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop shop personnel, including electricians, fabricators, and apprentices.
  • Monitor performance, and ensure proper staffing levels to meet shop production goals.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong communication with vendor relationship skills to promote transparency on construction related challenges. 

Quality Control

  • Ensure all fabricated materials and assemblies meet project specifications, codes, and company quality standards.
  • Perform inspections and implement quality assurance processes to minimize rework and defects.
  • Maintain detailed documentation for fabrication processes and completed work.
  • Maintain and own shop schedules as it relates to fabrication and delivery.

Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce strict adherence to safety policies, OSHA regulations, and company safety programs.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings, inspections, and audits within the shop.
  • Identify hazards and implement corrective actions to maintain a safe working environment.

Inventory & Materials Management

  • Oversee material procurement, inventory tracking, and usage within the shop.
  • Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely availability of materials and equipment.
  • Oversee that all equipment related to power distribution is accounted for and readily available for installation.
  • Minimize waste and control costs through efficient material handling and planning.

Process Improvement

  • Evaluate shop processes and implement improvements to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Introduce new fabrication techniques, tools, or technologies where beneficial.
  • Monitor schedules and adjust operations to meet performance targets.

Qualifications

Experience

  • Minimum 7–10 years of experience in electrical construction or fabrication, preferably in power generation, transmission, or distribution projects.
  • At least 3–5 years in a leadership or supervisory role within a fabrication shop or construction environment.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including switchgear, control panels, conduit systems, and power distribution.
  • Familiarity with NEC (National Electrical Code) and applicable industry standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.

Leadership & Communication

  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.

Safety Focus

  • Demonstrated commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
  • OSHA certifications or equivalent safety training preferred.

Education & Certifications

  • Journeyman Electrician license preferred.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field is a plus.

Additional Qualifications

  • Experience with fabrication shop equipment and processes (bending, cutting, assembly tools).
  • Proficiency with project management and inventory tracking systems is a plus.
  • Position will be based at a suppliers fabrication shop with the potential for travel to other supplier fabrication shops.
  • We are looking to fill position(s) that will be based out of the following locations. Port Arthur Texas, Chattanooga Tennessee, or Pittsburg Kansas.
