Position Overview

The Document Control Manager oversees the planning, execution, and maintenance of all project documentation processes on power generation, transmission, or distribution construction projects. This role ensures that engineering drawings, technical submittals, project correspondence, contracts, and QA/QC records are managed accurately, securely, and in alignment with regulatory, contractual, and company standards. The Document Control Manager works closely with project management, engineering, procurement, and construction teams to maintain document integrity, support version control, and ensure timely distribution of critical project information.

District Overview

TIC Power (TICP) is a subsidiary of Kiewit Corporation that provides direct-hire construction services for Power Generation utilizing a non-union craft force. Strength in estimating and pre-project planning. Constructing cogeneration, combined-cycle, geothermal and waste-to-energy generation and resource facilities. TIC Power builds major EPC power plant projects throughout North America.

This position is based out of Forsyth, GA.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the project’s Document Control Plan and procedures.
  • Manage document workflows for creation, revision, approval, distribution, archiving, and retrieval.
  • Maintain accurate version control of drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, transmittals, and other project documents.
  • Ensure timely distribution of approved drawings and documents to internal teams and subcontractors.
  • Maintain and monitor document registers and logs.
  • Administer electronic document management systems (EDMS) such as SharePoint, Aconex, Procore, Primavera Contract Manager, or similar platforms.
  • Train project team members on proper document control protocols and use of document systems.
  • Maintain system permissions, access levels, and workflow configurations.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual document control requirements and industry standards (e.g., ISO, NERC, FERC for certain power projects).
  • Coordinate audit responses and provide documentation required for inspections or quality compliance.
  • Protect document confidentiality and ensure secure storage of sensitive project information.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field supervisors to ensure timely document flow.
  • Interface with vendors, subcontractors, and clients to coordinate document submissions and approvals.
  • Support project closeout by assembling turnover packages, O&M manuals, and as-built documentation.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly document control status reports.
  • Track document cycle times and identify bottlenecks.
  • Recommend process improvements for efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of document control experience in construction, engineering, EPC, or power industry projects.
  • Experience working with power generation (fossil, renewable, nuclear), transmission, substation, or utility-scale construction projects strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large volumes of technical and construction documents.
  • Proficiency with EDMS platforms (Aconex, Procore, SharePoint, ProjectWise, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-solving mindset with a focus on process improvement.
