Position Overview
The District Engineer is responsible for providing technical leadership, engineering oversight, and project support across multiple construction projects within a designated district. This role serves as a key liaison between engineering, project management, field operations, and clients to ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget. The District Engineer oversees engineering standards, quality control, project planning, design coordination, and the implementation of construction best practices while supporting business growth and operational excellence.
District Overview
TIC Power (TICP) is a subsidiary of Kiewit Corporation that provides direct-hire construction services for Power Generation utilizing a non-union craft force. Strength in estimating and pre-project planning. Constructing cogeneration, combined-cycle, geothermal and waste-to-energy generation and resource facilities. TIC Power builds major EPC power plant projects throughout North America.

Responsibilities
- Provide engineering guidance and technical support to project teams throughout all phases of construction.
- Review and approve engineering deliverables, construction work packages, technical submittals, and design modifications.
- Ensure compliance with company engineering standards, industry regulations, and client requirements.
- Resolve complex technical challenges and support constructability reviews.
- Partner with Project Managers, Construction Managers, and Superintendents to develop execution strategies.
- Support project planning, scheduling, cost forecasting, and risk management efforts.
- Monitor project performance and identify opportunities to improve productivity and efficiency.
- Assist with project startup, execution, commissioning, and closeout activities.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure engineering activities align with corporate safety standards.
- Support quality assurance and quality control programs across district projects.
- Participate in audits, inspections, incident investigations, and corrective action plans.
- Ensure technical compliance with applicable codes, specifications, and contractual obligations.
- Mentor and develop Field Engineers, Project Engineers, and other engineering staff.
- Provide coaching, training, and career development opportunities for district personnel.
- Assist with workforce planning, recruiting, and succession planning initiatives.
- Foster collaboration between engineering, operations, procurement, and construction teams.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and engineering partners.
- Support proposal development, estimating efforts, and business development activities.
- Participate in client meetings and represent the company on technical matters.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Qualifications
- 10+ years of engineering, construction, or project management experience in industrial, power, infrastructure, oil & gas, or heavy civil construction environments.
- Experience managing engineering functions across multiple projects or business units.
- Demonstrated leadership experience supervising engineering and project teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline required.
- Strong understanding of construction means and methods, project delivery processes, and engineering principles.
- Experience with project scheduling, cost control, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Knowledge of quality management systems, construction specifications, and industry standards.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of an organization.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- Experience supporting large-scale EPC, industrial, energy, or power generation projects.
- Familiarity with construction management software and project controls systems.
- Proven history of leading multidisciplinary teams and delivering successful project outcomes.
- Ability to travel to project sites as needed, including extended assignments based on business and project requirements
