Position Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing craft across a region of 15 industrial projects. He or She will be expected to have a firm understanding of the power industry and needs of the craft work force. The successful candidate should have existing, strong relationships with construction managers, superintendents, and general foreman across the gulf coast region.  The successful candidate will have manager in the craft recruiting, human resources, construction equipment, and safety reporting direct to them.  He or She will be responsible for running, safety, and on time operations.  Craft productivity for all 15 projects will be drive by the candidate.  The candidate will report directly to the Sr. Vice President of Power.  Travel is required for this position.  Travel expectations are Monday through Friday by car, between the projects.

District Overview

TIC Power (TICP) is a subsidiary of Kiewit Corporation that provides direct-hire construction services for Power Generation utilizing a non-union craft force. Strength in estimating and pre-project planning. Constructing cogeneration, combined-cycle, geothermal and waste-to-energy generation and resource facilities. TIC Power builds major EPC power plant projects throughout North America.

 

Our rapidly growing Power district, which includes structural, civil, piping, mechanical, process, process safety, electrical, instrument and control disciplines, is a multi-faceted division of Kiewit with best-in-class technical expertise focused on the EPC delivery model for power facilities. We offer a variety of project development, detailed engineering and design, construction management and plant services. Our construction teams bring power projects to life across North America in the following areas: 
•    Gas-fired generation 
•    Power delivery 
•    Environmental retrofits
•    Renewables and new technology
•    Water/wastewater

Location

This position is based out of the Houston, Woodlands office. The ability to travel at least 90% to project locations is expected

Responsibilities

•    Safety of craft workforce
•    Management of craft recruiting operations
•    Equipment selection and planning for our projects
•    Hiring of staff superintendents, construction managers, and foreman.
•    Cost, productivity, and quality control of our work.
•    Working knowledge of combined cycle power plants, and under EPC delivery methods

Qualifications

•    +20 years of industrial merit shop construction work
•    Power EPC experience, at least 5 projects from beginning to end
•    Knowledge of engineering standards applicable to the power delivery industry
•    Demonstrated craft and staff following
•    Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence in taking initiative 
•    Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; fluent in English language
