Position Overview
As a Senior Estimator, you will play a critical role in driving preconstruction efforts for marine and heavy civil projects, with a focus on opportunities throughout Florida. You’ll lead estimates for complex projects up to $100 million, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and help shape winning strategies for pursuits in the marine sector.

District Overview
TIC - The Industrial Company is a subsidiary of Kiewit Corporation. TIC Marine and Heavy Civil self-performs projects with company-owned equipment for public and private sectors. The markets we operate in include dock construction and repair, bridge construction, road construction, mechanical bridge rehabilitation and retrofitting, foundation pile, erosion control structures, drainage structures, shop fabrication, industrial maintenance and varied concrete work.
Location
While the office is based in Savannah, GA, qualified candidates may also be based out of one of our Florida regional offices—such as Jacksonville, Orlando, Tampa, or Fort Lauderdale—with a primary focus on identifying and pursuing marine construction opportunities throughout the state.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage estimates for large, complex marine and heavy civil projects.
- Interpret and analyze drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Conduct site investigations and develop construction plans to inform estimates.
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor proposals.
- Provide conceptual and detailed estimates, including self-perform work.
- Collaborate with design teams and provide preconstruction services.
- Prepare and review proposals, cost breakdowns, and supporting documentation.
- Stay current with industry trends, equipment, and construction methods.
- Mentor and guide junior estimators and contribute to team development.
- Support design management and coordination during preconstruction.
- Assist in developing and refining estimating procedures and historical cost databases.
- Participate in group photo documentation and candid moment capture (if applicable to project events).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
- 7–10 years of estimating experience, with at least 3–5 years as a lead estimator.
- Experience with marine, heavy civil, and EPC projects preferred.
- Strong understanding of conceptual, hard bid, and self-perform estimating.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and estimating software (e.g., Hard Dollar, On-Screen Takeoff, Timberline, MC2).
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel as needed (<25%).
- Passion for preconstruction and a strong work ethic.
