Position Overview


This position is a 6–9 month contract in Great Falls, MT. (Based on performance and ability to move with the company outside on Montana, there may be a long-term need.)


The Project HR Coordinator position will assist with project efforts including but not limited to staffing, coordinate training and development programs, support internal communications, maintain personnel records. Provide metrics and reports for various HR driven processes and maintenance of HR rosters. The Project HR Coordinator will ensure that all hires fit and contribute to the enduring culture of success at Kiewit. The Project HR Coordinator will report to the Project HR Specialist or Project HR Manager. The working environment for a Project HR Coordinator will be fast paced with a high volume of actions that requires all hands-on-deck when project is in moving through certain phases – onboarding, ‘peak’ and offboarding.

This position is based on a jobsite in Great Falls, Montana.



Human Resources Administration

  • Deliver project metrics for HR related activities in partnership with the HR COEs and Project Leadership teams 
  • Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation, including outreach, onsite compliance, onsite EEO, etc. 
  • Lead maintenance upkeep for project personnel, including but not limited to; I-9 records, position titles, manager updates, organization charts, training records, policies, required postings, etc.

Workforce Planning

  • Work closely with Craft and Staff TA COEs to communicate project mobility policy/procedures for new hires, as well as with HRBPs for internal transfers 
  • Ensure needs from POC hiring manager/Superintendents for craft and staff on project are being processed and submitted per project guidelines
  • Coordination with requisitions between project and recruiting team
  • Assist with Employee Engagement and Community Events on project
  • Support the project’s Intern Program

Training and Development

  • Ensure training sheets are uploaded and recorded for project personnel
  • Assist with Craft and Staff training support including schedule maintenance.


  • Ensure onboarding process for craft/staff is being processed per project guidelines and work effectively with various departments to ensure onboarding is consistent
  • Identify areas of improvement or change required for onboarding of staff and craft
  • Maintain the arrivals list for the project
  • Provide project details, logistics, onboarding guide to employees en route to project

Employee Support

  • Act as a liaison with HR Shared Services to ensure the delivery of support to exceed internal client needs 
  • Provide feedback to influence the continuous improvement of HR services and processes

Department Management

  • Provide HR support for Project Management Teams (DOR, HR Business Plans, Mid-Year Reviews, etc.)



This position requires an experienced HR expert who can strike a balance between systems thinking, HR program execution and process innovation.

  • TWIC card is a requirement
  • Must have relevant Construction experience for large commercial/industrial projects.
  • Undergraduate degree in Human Resources or related Business Administration major. Preferably 1-3 years of Project HR or related HR experience.
  • Highly motivated and self-managed to get things done right the first time.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience using SAP
  • Advanced knowledge with the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Must be a self-starter and highly motivated with the desire to do what it takes to get the job done.
