Position Overview

As a Distribution Manager, you will supervise and coordinate all activities related to the receiving, storage and shipping of products to meet our customer’s needs. You will also manage the activities related to upkeep and/or modification of the facility. These activities include: scheduling, staffing assignments, managing inventories, record keeping, QC control, housekeeping, organization of the warehouse, coordinating daily shop floor activities, coordinating facility upkeep or repair activities, and seeing that proper training is provided to all warehouse staff to create a safe and efficient working environment.

This distribution center will be located in Virginia Beach, VA

Responsibilities

•    Oversee the processing of pick tickets and ensure all orders are shipped to customer’s specifications in a timely manner.
•    Maintain the storage of product to achieve accurate physical inventories reflected in ERP system.
•    Supervise and prioritize warehouse personnel.
•    Establish and assist in the development of warehouse policies and objectives and assure adherence to best practices procedures.
•    Overall inventory accuracy in the warehouse.
•    Assure results and productivity are maintained at or above company goals and standards.
•    Establish processes and ensure compliance to all established ISO and quality documentation and process requirements.
•    Assure freight carriers are appropriate to TPC’s and our customer’s requirements.
•    Adhere to and provide a safe working environment for staff.
•    Responsible for employee attendance records and reconciliations.
•    Overall cleanliness of warehouse.
•    Requires discretionary judgment, deductive reasoning, procedural and interpersonal skills.
•    Being able to adjust to changing demands of internal and external customers.
•    Maintain high customer service levels (On-Time & In Full %).
•    Assist with the resolution of daily problems and issues affecting the warehouse, customer service, finance, and purchasing.
•    Develop and implement warehouse operational procedures.
•    Maintain the safety of staff and appearance of the warehouse.
•    Assure all customer, sales representative and other internal staff requests and inquirers are dealt with in a timely and successfully manner.
•    Comply with ISO requirements.
•    Develop and Implement procedures to improve efficiencies to meet or exceed business objectives.
•    Maintain high employee engagement.
•    Respond to and coordinate resolutions to facility issues (office, warehouse, and manufacturing).

Qualifications

•    3 years of supervisory experience.
•    10 years of warehouse operations experience, preferably in an industrial distribution environment (wire and cable experience is a plus).
•    Experience in an integrated ERP environment (Epicor or Profit 21 preferred).
•    Familiarity and use of 5S strategies and Lean manufacturing tools.
•    Good communication and organizational skills.
•    Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
•    Forklift skills a must for training.
•    ISO-90001 procedural/process knowledge preferred.
•    Requires good written and verbal communication skills.
•    Experience in managing a variety of priorities.
•    Problem solving ability.
•    Experience in dealing directly with freight carriers.
•    Ability to relate to all departments inside and outside.
•    Customer first mentality.
