Location

This position is located at project sites in the GTA and will be required to work on projects all across the area.  

Responsibilities

Electrical Superintendents’ responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Supervise electrical construction activities at transit station sites.
  • Conduct daily inspections of electrical work, ensuring compliance with transit authority standards.
  • Coordinate with general contractors, subcontractors, and station project teams.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve site-specific electrical issues.
  • Monitor and manage project budgets and implement cost control measures.
  • Lead safety training and enforce safety protocols specific to station environments.
  • Ensure quality assurance and adherence to transit infrastructure standards.
  • Develop and manage detailed job schedules (e.g., three-week lookahead, 90-day plans, manpower loading).
  • Coordinate electrical work with other trades and ensure timely delivery of materials and inspections.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a General Foreman or Superintendent on transit station construction projects.
  • Experience managing unionized electrical crews.
  • Proven track record supervising electrical teams (20–50 craft employees).
  • Strong understanding of station-specific electrical systems, including:
    • Underground conduit and cable installations.
    • Station lighting, fire alarm, and communication systems.
    • Hazardous location conduit installations.
    • Cable tray systems and cable pulling.
  • Familiarity with rail-related electrical systems and station integration.
  • Comfortable attending coordination meetings with clients, transit authorities, and general contractors.
  • Positive attitude with strong leadership and motivational skills.
  • Ability to adapt to different station environments and teams.
  • Physically able to access all areas of a transit station construction site.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Willing to travel to station projects throughout the GTA, regardless of location.
