Position Overview
As a Commercial Manager, you are responsible for contract management and compliance, adhering to best practices, contracting strategy, and risk management/coordination. The project commercial manager will work closely with other members of the project team, external stakeholders, and clients to ensure that contractual obligations are met, risks are identified and mitigated, and project objectives are achieved.

This position will be project-based in Boise, ID.
Responsibilities
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to prepare a consolidated analysis of the prime contract, highlighting risks, suggesting mitigations, and ensuring alignment on obligations and risk allocation with the project team.
• Accumulate backup information to support change notification documentation and cost development.
• Ensure adherence to contractual schedule obligations, including milestones, progress measurement, and notice of changes, while ensuring key client deliverables and approval periods are consistently met across all contract terms.
• Develop tools to track and communicate project risks, trends, delays, and opportunities, ensuring alignment with project teams on scope changes, schedule adjustments, and execution plan modifications.
• Support Risk Management in developing and collecting documentation for claims.
• Ensure compliance with the contract’s change management provisions and that any obligations to utilize and/or comply with Client tools, systems, and procedures are evaluated and provided for accordingly.
• Ensure contract notice periods, and (back-up) documentation requirements are reasonable. Review schedule to establish clear baseline and logical basis for changes.
Qualifications
• Educational Background & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, with 8-10 years of experience in project contract management within energy, oil and gas, or construction industry.
• Commercial & Contractual Expertise: Strong business and commercial acumen with a deep understanding of contract/subcontract structures, risk analysis, negotiations, and change management.
• Risk Management & Contingency Planning: Proficient in identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks, with experience in contingency evaluation and the management of commercial project risks.
• Client & Stakeholder Relationship Management: Skilled in managing relationships with clients, internal teams, and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment and clear communication across all parties.
• Project Management & Execution: Experience in developing and implementing project-specific commercial management plans.
• Proficient in Word and Excel.
