Position Overview

As a Safety Administrator, you will provide administrative support to our Field Safety Coordinators and Safety Managers such as data entry, organization and maintenance of safety records, and compiling safety data for various reports, and ensuring effective implementation of the site-specific Safety Plan in the field. You will assist the Safety Team with the application corporate safety manuals, district standards, and all laws governing the work. You will also verify to ensure that work is being executed as planned, problem-solve with operations and craft, assist with corrective measures, and provide resources to correct and maintain solutions.

Ganotec is a full service, heavy industrial contractor serving the industrial sector across Canada. Ganotec typically self performs all major disciplines including, civil, structural steel erection, heavy mechanical equipment installation, process piping and electrical / instrumentation and controls. We conduct our business through a variety of commercial contract styles including full turnkey, EPC, design build, T&M and conventional discipline packages. Location

The project is based in Vaughan, Ontario. The GTA Fuel Expansion project entails constructing and expanding the current rail car offloading facility and fuel storage tanks. The project site is in the Greater Toronto Area (Vaughan); the planned duration of the project is approximately eighteen months. As Ganotec is the project's constructor, all contractors/employers under the care and control of Ganotec will follow Ganotec’s Health and Safety Management Plan (HSMP) as required. At the height of construction activities, a combined workforce of approximately seventy-five (75) is expected, including fifteen (15) staff and sixty (60) craft workers.  

Responsibilities

  • Perform data entry and assist in the compilation of data for various reports 
  • Maintaining various databases and generating monthly and weekly reports 
  • Gathering, reviewing, and distributing safety-related statistical information 
  • Maintaining a high level of confidentiality in all interactions 
  • Organize, maintain, digitize and coordinate records and files 
  • Present a positive and professional image of the organization when interacting with employees, clients/customers, visitors and other external stakeholders 
  • Assist with administrative tasks as required by the Safety Coordinators and Leadership 
  • Perform other duties as assigned 
     

Qualifications

  • The ability to travel and relocate as required 
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in an administrative role, preferably in the construction industry 
  • Oil and Gas experience is a plus  
  • Education in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Safety, or a related field of study is preferred 
  • Knowledge of construction safety, current Federal and OSHA requirements 
  • Good analytical skills, high level of integrity and work ethic 
  • Excellent computer skills and proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint 
  • Strong organizational skills, multi-tasking ability and detail oriented 
  • Ability to work in a team environment or independently and be self motivated 
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and/or urgent requests 
  • Excels operating in a fast-paced team environment 
  • Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environment  #LI-IS1
