Ganotec is a full service, heavy industrial contractor serving the industrial sector across Canada. Ganotec typically self performs all major disciplines including, civil, structural steel erection, heavy mechanical equipment installation, process piping and electrical / instrumentation and controls. We conduct our business through a variety of commercial contract styles including full turnkey, EPC, design build, T&M and conventional discipline packages. We have always been a strong proponent of “partnering”, working in collaboration with owners, major equipment suppliers and engineers at the early stages of the project development phase to allow for a more cost-effective execution strategy for the project. Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on direction and supervision of subcontractor operations to uphold uncompromising safety and quality standards on-site.
- Conduct thorough field inspections, ongoing safety audits, and regular site walkthroughs to proactively identify and mitigate risks.
- Coordinate material logistics, workflow sequencing, and site layout to enhance operational efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Collaborate closely with engineering and construction teams to develop, refine, and implement detailed work packages.
- Maintain comprehensive project schedules, track budget expenditures, and regulate project scope to ensure alignment with overall objectives.
- Manage critical project documentation including design specifications, as-built drawings, and turnover reports, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
- Analyze plans and specifications to detect technical issues and potential project risks early on.
- Lead material quantification and procurement processes, guaranteeing traceability, regulatory compliance, and timely availability.
- Support commissioning phases by overseeing punch-list resolution and ensuring readiness for project close-out.
- Monitor departmental expenses, participate in budget forecasting, and perform financial analytics to support project cost management.
- Prepare detailed progress reports for stakeholders and contribute to the ongoing enhancement of operational practices based on project learnings.
Qualifications
- Possess a technical degree in mechanical engineering, HVAC, plumbing, or related fields, or demonstrate equivalent substantial professional experience in these disciplines.
- At least three years of proven experience in project coordination or field supervision specifically within industrial construction or energy sectors.
- Exemplary organizational skills paired with strong interpersonal communication abilities to effectively manage complex, multi-faceted projects.
- Proficiency with project management tools such as scheduling software and cost control systems to ensure accurate planning and financial oversight.
- Flexibility and readiness to travel extensively or relocate based on project needs; comfortable with fly-in/fly-out working arrangements.
- A commitment to continuous professional development and a proactive approach to safety and compliance standards.
Working Conditions
Working Conditions:
This role primarily involves work at construction and industrial project sites, which require adherence to strict health and safety regulations and protocols. The position demands a high level of physical activity, including site inspections and travel between various locations. Work hours may vary depending on project phases, occasionally necessitating extended shifts or weekend presence to meet project deadlines. Personal protective equipment must be worn at all times on-site. The company supports a culture of safety and provides continuous training to ensure compliance and well-being of all personnel.

Base Compensation: $80,000/yr - $110,000/yr
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
