Position Overview
Ganotec is seeking an experienced scheduler with great P6 skills, a passion for details and a few great projects under their belt! Our schedulers support both engineering and construction projects, performing resource and cost loaded schedules and analysis. You will be responsible for building and updating schedules as milestones progress and as deliverables are completed. District Overview
Ganotec is a full service, heavy industrial contractor serving the industrial sector across Canada. Ganotec typically self performs all major disciplines including, civil, structural steel erection, heavy mechanical equipment installation, process piping and electrical / instrumentation and controls. We conduct our business through a variety of commercial contract styles including full turnkey, EPC, design build, T&M and conventional discipline packages. We have always been a strong proponent of “partnering”, working in collaboration with owners, major equipment suppliers and engineers at the early stages of the project development phase to allow for a more cost-effective execution strategy for the project. Location
This position is based in U.S.A and requires applicants to be eligible to work in the U.S. or to apply for and obtain a TN visa. U.S. immigration requires proof of Canadian citizenship and successful completion of a Bachelor of Engineering degree.
This role may involve either a fly-in/fly-out arrangement on a potential 10/4 schedule or a temporary relocation for approximately 1 to 2 years, depending on project needs and individual circumstances.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, procurement, and construction teams to develop detailed EPC schedules from concept through commissioning.
- Create and maintain Primavera P6 schedules with resource and cost loading, including critical path analysis and milestone tracking.
- Integrate engineering deliverables, procurement timelines, and construction activities into a unified project schedule.
- Monitor progress, identify schedule risks, and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Analyze the impact of design changes, procurement delays, and construction variances on overall project timelines.
- Prepare and present schedule reports and forecasts to internal stakeholders and clients.
- Support project controls functions including earned value analysis, progress measurement, and reporting.
- Maintain historical data for benchmarking and future planning.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- Minimum 2+ years of EPC scheduling experience, preferably in industrial or infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Excel; familiarity with other project controls tools is a plus.
- Experience with resource- and cost-loaded schedules and earned value management.
- Strong understanding of EPC workflows and interdependencies between engineering, procurement, and construction.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
