Position Overview
As a Quality Specialist, you will primarily have responsibility for inspections and tests pertaining to a specific scope of work such as welding, piping, concrete, mechanical, electrical, etc. You will also perform other duties as directed by his/her supervisor to meet project quality requirements. To maximize your effectiveness, you must develop a thorough understanding of the project scope and schedule as they relate to your specific assignment.

Ganotec typically self performs all major disciplines including, civil, structural steel erection, heavy mechanical equipment installation, process piping and electrical / instrumentation and controls.

Responsibilities
- Engage with clients actively by listening to their concerns and feedback, taking prompt and appropriate actions to address quality-related issues.
- Maintain transparent communications with client representatives about the quality progress and challenges of the work performed.
- Thoroughly study and internalize the Project Quality Plan and associated quality management documents applicable to your assigned work scope.
- Identify detailed quality requirements from contract specifications, applicable codes, and industry standards, ensuring work aligns fully with these criteria.
- Interpret codes and standards accurately to assess compliance and guide inspection activities effectively.
- Develop, implement, and monitor the Inspection and Testing Plan (ITP) tailored to project needs and timelines.
- Coordinate inspection schedules in close liaison with operations, subcontractors, third-party inspectors, and clients to facilitate seamless workflow and meet production goals.
- Conduct systematic inspections and testing as defined by the ITP and project quality standards, documenting outcomes precisely.
- Generate detailed inspection and test reports, maintaining meticulous quality records and documentation for audit readiness.
- Identify and report nonconforming work promptly following company and project protocols, managing Nonconformance Reports (NCRs) to successful closure.
- Execute source and receiving inspections of materials and plant equipment to verify adherence to project specifications before deployment.
- Participate actively in planning meetings by providing expert quality input that supports task execution and risk mitigation.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience on oil & gas projects is essential, with a proven record of quality control across multiple trades.
- Proficient in coordinating various disciplines within quality assurance activities to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Willingness and ability to travel and relocate as project demands change, embracing a flexible work lifestyle.
- Strong adherence to established procedures combined with excellent organizational skills to ensure methodical work approaches.
- Self-motivated with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, fostering collaboration across diverse teams.
- Educational credentials include an associate degree in engineering technology or science with a minimum of two years' experience in related construction, including at least one year in a QA/QC role; alternatively, a high school diploma or equivalent with four years related experience, including two years in QA/QC, is acceptable.
- In-depth knowledge of your assigned trade’s inspection and testing methods, incorporating special processes relevant to quality assurance.
- Familiarity and working knowledge of construction industry codes and standards such as ASME, TSSA, ESA, and CWB.
- Welding inspection experience is considered an asset, enhancing your capacity to oversee specialized quality assessments.

Base Compensation: $90,000/yr - $115,000/yr
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
