Position Overview

As an Electrical Construction Manager, you will be responsible for the overall direction, completion, and financial outcome of electrical activities on construction projects. Ganotec is looking for a Construction Manager with experience in the electrical sector to support projects across Canada. 

District Overview

Ganotec is a full service, heavy industrial contractor serving the industrial sector across Canada. Ganotec typically self performs all major disciplines including, civil, structural steel erection, heavy mechanical equipment installation, process piping and electrical / instrumentation and controls. We conduct our business through a variety of commercial contract styles including full turnkey, EPC, design build, T&M and conventional discipline packages. We have always been a strong proponent of “partnering”, working in collaboration with owners, major equipment suppliers and engineers at the early stages of the project development phase to allow for a more cost-effective execution strategy for the project. Location

The selected candidate for this role will be required to travel or relocate to different projects across Canada, including Montreal, QC.

Responsibilities

  • Overall responsible of all electrical scope of work to be performed from procurement to commissioning.
  • Management of all electrical parties on site including managing field resources and all sub trades to complete their portion of work safely, on-time and to an acceptable standard of quality. 
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety policies, regulations, and acts. 
  • Developing site work schedules 
  • Organizing and presiding over regular safety meetings 
  • Maintaining a safe, organized, and clean site. 
  • Manage contract administration (subcontractor/field management meeting for communication)
  • Maintain good client relations involving staff on site.
  • Initiate and attend supplementary and regular meetings with client for problem resolution and planning.
  • Oversee and approve the monthly job cost updates and quarterly cash flow projections. 
  • Develop and implement a plan for project completion and turnover.
  • Maintain daily diary for record keeping purposes.
  • Ensure that all performance evaluations and completed in a timely fashion for direct reports.
  • Recommend, where appropriate, organizational, policy and procedural or staff changes
     

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience with on-site coordination and management of multiple subcontractors and suppliers, control of work areas and quality control on medium/large-scale industrial or hydrolectric projects.   
  • Demonstrated experience in working on construction projects in working with multiple construction crews.  
  • 10+ years or more of demonstrated onsite experience of onsite coordination and management of multiple subcontractors and suppliers.  #LI-IS1
