Quality Coordinator

Position Overview

As a Quality Coordinator, you may report directly to the Quality Manager, or will administer the Company Quality Plan on smaller projects.  In this role, you will be responsible for assuring that quality standards and procedures are disseminated and implemented throughout the company.  You will perform and report on internal quality system audits and assists in the overall administration of the internal audit program.

Location

This position will be based in Southern California and will support projects in the whole of California as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Promote and maintain effective communications and relations (verbally and in writing) with district management, project management teams and engineers/clients as required.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of the Quality Management System and procedures and promote standardization.
  • Assist in conducting project quality audits and reports.
Qualifications
  • Degree plus two years’ experience in process piping related construction field or equivalent amount of experience and education.
  • Working knowledge of construction practices, construction codes (ASME, AWS, etc.) and non-destructive examination procedures (VT, RT, UT, PT, MT) (desirable)
  • Current CWI certification
  • Excellent communication and technical writing skills, ability to research and work with detailed/technical matters and convey/explain the information to field personnel
  • Ability to work in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and SharePoint software programs as well as able to quickly learn other software applications
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to perform a variety of tasks with deadlines and potentially frequent interruptions
Working Conditions

Active construction office and field project environment. Interact daily with a wide variety of individuals, from craft to staff and management employees as well as client and/or governmental representatives. Project sites include ladders, stairs, uneven ground and work in ambient temperatures.
