We are seeking a seasoned Senior Safety Manager to lead and elevate our safety culture across large-scale construction projects. This role is pivotal in ensuring zero-incident execution, regulatory compliance, and proactive risk mitigation in fast-paced, high-tech environments. You’ll serve as the strategic safety lead, partnering with project executives, field teams, and clients to embed safety into every phase of the build—from site mobilization to commissioning for Industrial projects, with the initial project in Mount Pleasant Wisconsin.  Our Industrial division focuses on EPC projects in the following markets:  Data Center, EV Battery, advanced manufacturing, Water/Wastewater, Mining, and Campus Energy.  As a Sr. Safety Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the overall site safety programs are in place, and teams are following safety procedures and processes and keeping the project accident free!  If you have 10 years in Safety for self-perform, large scale projects, we would like to talk with you!

Location

One of the many things that makes Kiewit’s culture unique is that we go where the work is, which exposes your career to abundant opportunities. You will be required to work at project sites, around the country, for the duration of the project.  We offer relocation assistance or per diem/trips home, based on IRS guidelines.  

Responsibilities

Develop and implement site-specific safety plans aligned with corporate EH&S policies and OSHA standards
Lead daily safety briefings, toolbox talks, and incident response protocols.  Monitor Industrial construction work for compliance to safety requirements. 
Conduct regular audits, inspections, and risk assessments across all trades and subcontractors.  Conduct training, new hire orientation and safety meetings at the project sites.  
Collaborate with construction managers, engineers, and client representatives to ensure safety integration in design and execution
Investigate incidents and near-misses, prepare root cause analyses, and drive corrective actions
Mentor and train field personnel on hazard recognition, PPE usage, and emergency procedures
Manage documentation and reporting for regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders
Champion a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement in safety performance
Certification as a Safety Professional or Emergency Medical Technician is also desired. 

Qualifications

•     Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or Industrial is preferred, or at least 4 years equivalent degree/work experience, plus a minimum of 8 years Safety oversight for Industrial construction projects
•     Strong work ethic; Must have strong interpersonal, problem solving, conflict resolution and organizational skills.  Proven ability to lead cross-functional teans and influence safety outcomes, in complex, multi-phased construction projects
•     Must be able to act independently with little or no supervision and work collaboratively on a team environment 
•     Ability to utilize safety management software MS OFfice and other digital reporting tools.  
•     Ability to carry out duties in varying work environments including wide ranging weather conditions and terrain. 
•     Knowledge of construction safety, current Federal and OSHA requirements and other relevant standards is required
