Position Overview

Position Overview

The Estimator is responsible for material takeoffs, cost analysis, preparation, and presentation of discipline estimates for large and complex projects. The position also involves the maintenance of historical databases while assisting in the development of department procedures. The targeted markets include but are not limited to industrial and OGC contracts.

This position is in Minneapolis, Minnesota; with travel potentially up to 25%.

Responsibilities

  • Provide/coordinate full estimating services on large complex OGC, & Heavy Industrial projects focusing on mechanical, structural, and piping.
  • Required to develop project estimates requiring bid information.
  • Prepare estimates to ensure all factors are properly considered, priced, and included in the estimate summaries.
  • Revenue, cost, and cash flow management
  • Permanent design management and quality control.
  • Project closeout.
  • Assist in Operations planning.
  • Other duties will include performing site visits, job cost projections/audits and constructability studies.
  • Administer contracts and subcontracts.
  • Perform scheduling of the project.

Qualifications

• Ability to travel and relocate as needed.

• Undergraduate degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering or equivalent.

• 5+ years’ work experience in construction or engineering.

• Experience interacting with engineers and other interdisciplinary teams.

• Ability to read, analyze and identify discrepancies on engineering plans, specifications, and

contract documents.

• Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative.

• Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time.

• Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity.

• Passion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurt.

• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

• Working Conditions may be fast-paced office environment; must be able to interact professionally with all levels of management while simultaneously manage a diversified workload and challenging situations efficiently and effectively; regularly sit, stand, walk and talk and listen; occasionally lift and move objects up to 30 pounds.
