Position Overview

As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the administrative and technical aspects of constructing a project, managing a team of field and cost engineers. Do you have strong interpersonal and information management skills?  In this role, you will be the main conduit of information between the construction manager and the team for cost, revenue, cash flow information. This position could be based out of Eden Prairie, MN, Sante Fe Springs, CA, Lenexa, KS or Houston, TX. This is a field based position, however and will be ultimately working on project sites.

  • Support construction activities in the field by planning, organizing and implementing varied management duties involved in heavy industrial mechanical construction.
  • Provide learned leadership and assistance to field construction (non-labor) staff.
  • Perform and support client-facing roles and functions as needed.
  • Interface with project district management to ensure safe construction practices are followed and all quality/schedule goals are achieved.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a construction-related field of engineering or equivalent experience and education and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in oil / gas / chemical and related mechanical/industrial construction.
  • Experience in all facets of small project management or related experience as owner’s representative
  • Must have proven abilities and skills in the following: leadership and management of people, communication (verbal and written), planning, organization and delegation.
  • Must have working knowledge and be able to direct the operation of construction management reporting systems.
Working Conditions
  • Fast-paced project construction environment; must be able to interact professionally with all levels of management, client representatives, staff and craft while simultaneously managing a diversified workload and challenging situations efficiently and effectively; regularly sit, stand, walk and talk and listen; occasionally lift and move up objects up to 30 pounds.
  • Extended relocation to project areas in the U.S. as required.
