You will be required to perform engineering work in connection with a wide variety of infrastructure projects that range in size, difficulty, and duration. You will be involved in the district estimating, which involves quantity takeoffs, time studies, cost estimating, participating in estimate reviews and bid close-out.
District Overview
McNally Tunneling Corporation, a subsidiary of Weeks Marine Inc., is a heavy/civil construction company that specializes in large diameter tunneling and underground construction. McNally has been successfully completing projects throughout the United States ranging in cost from $350,000 to $200+Mil since the company was formed in 1988.
Location
This position is located in our Cleveland office in Westlake, OH.
Responsibilities
- Assist in reviewing and analyzing historical data relative to the project, incorporating various productions and costs appropriate in preparation of a bid
- Complete a plan and specification review for an assigned project, assessing the risk areas and bringing them to the attention of the Senior Estimator
- Complete material and quantity takeoffs according to bid documents
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering
- Knowledge of construction safety and current federal & OSHA requirements
- Broad knowledge and ability to understand project scheduling and cost control as well as to read and understand project owner specifications and engineering drawings
- Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Strong written and verbal communications skills; strong attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies
- Strong work ethic – highly motivated and willing to do what it takes to get the job done right
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environment
- Ability to travel and/or relocate as required
- Reliable transportation to and from work
