District Overview

Continental Fire Sprinkler Company, a subsidiary of Kiewit Corporation, is a turnkey fire protection contractor headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska. With talented people and extensive resources, Continental Fire Sprinkler Company has completed a wide range of projects within 46 different states throughout the nation since 1971.

Location

This position is based out of our Omaha, NE office.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparation of material/equipment submittals and shop drawings, closeout documentation, ordering and obtaining hydraulic placards, and tracking, scanning, filing and distribution of these documents.
  • Set up new projects in the network filing system and enter project information into the project database. Update and maintain spreadsheet tracking changes in municipality codes and requirements.
  • Maintain and update electronic reference library, electronic and paper project file system, and product technical data folders/information.
  • Supporting Preconstruction/estimating group with organizing incoming RFP’s, creating file & folder structures for RFP’s, downloading reference documents as needed for projects, creating  project records in our in-house estimating platform, and updating activity reports on a daily, weekly, monthly & quarterly basis. 
  • Supporting our effort to maintain, update, renew & applications for Company business & Contractors licenses that are addressed on an ongoing basis, throughout the year.
  • Maintain and update electronic reference library, electronic and paper project file system, and product technical data folders/information.
  • Maintain various types of records including, but not limited to, hardcopy records and several databases.
  • Opportunity to support our fast-paced service department by handling incoming calls from our clients, assisting with scheduling our service resources as needed, creating or adding to Work Orders in our systems, and other similar duties under oversight from our current staff. 
  • Potential for assisting with coordination of company events locally
  • Responsible for maintaining and uploading documents to an electronic filing system
  • Assisting with potentially diverse administrative tasks
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent and above
  • Two to three (2 to 3) years of administrative experience, preferably in the construction industry, but not required
  • Ability to multi-task and perform detail-oriented work
  • Ability to work Monday – Friday, 730 a.m. to 430 p.m.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and web-based applications, Bluebeam, and Adobe products.
  • Ability to work independently: Take directive on a project and then proceed to completion, using a high level of initiative and independent action.
  • Ability to work as a team: Establish and maintain effective, professional relationships with employees in all departments and be proactive in solving project issues.
  • Ability to display and maintain a positive attitude in a customer-focused environment. Must possess strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize daily responsibilities.
  • Must be detail-oriented, able to coordinate, organize, and follow up on various projects simultaneously and without direct instruction.
  • Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
