Position Overview

Continental is looking for an Accounts Payable / Cash Disbursements Lead Associate to process vendor invoices,  maintain vendor accounts,  vouch multi-state sales & use tax computations, code and apply costs within the job cost subledgers and process payments in a timely fashion. The position resides in a high-volume transactional accounting department that directly supports the construction operations of the business and frequently interacts with vendors, purchasing agents, and operations management.

Location

This position is based in the Millard suburb of Omaha, NE.

Responsibilities

•    Regular, reliable attendance in the office Monday – Friday
•    Enter accounts payable invoices, vouch to purchase order, code to cost structure, ensure approvals obtained    
•    Prioritize cash disbursements, process daily, weekly & monthly check runs, capture prompt payment discounts  
•    Apply sales and use tax regulations to determine appropriate tax treatment, source transactions to proper jurisdictions and assist filing tax returns in a multi-state environment, maintain exemption certificates
•    Maintain vendor records, collect W9 forms, process year end 1099’s 
•    Maintain filling system and document imaging system
•    Research and reconcile account statements and resolve discrepancies 
•    Obtain vendor lien waivers and maintain licensing on vehicle fleet 

Qualifications

•    At least an associates degree in accounting and/or four (4) years of equivalent experience in Accounts Payable
•    Dependable and detail oriented with the ability to organize and prioritize the work product both individually and from others
•    Excellent written and verbal communications, strong analytical and research skills.
•    Proficiency in MS Office products, and previous exposure or willingness to learn Spectrum accounting applications
•    Experience in construction / accounting office environment or one with daily exposure to all levels of management, staff, and craft personnel desirable
